Re: Eumig 501
No, not just Eumigs. Dual gauge machines generall They are no more prone to problems than single gauge machines... so long as they are used properly . The 501 does not have a sprocket drive, by the way.... http://super8wiki.com/index.php/Eumig_Mark_501_Projector Contact off Forum if I can help furth...

Re: Eumig 501
Sorry to take issue there, Slashmaster, but those of us that know our projectors find that the EUMIG ranges of dual gauge projectors are generally great, dependable workhorses... so long as they are not mistreated by vandals. There is insufficient detail in the description of the problem to determin...

Re: a super 8 camera- video focus checker idea
If you have a camera that you KNOW gives good focus at infinity, you don't actually need the ground glass in order to set up the "focus checker"..... or to use it. First, set the camera lens to infinity, place it on a tripod and point the camera at a distant object. Then insert the "f...

Side-by-side 3D presentation
Has anyone any information on the lenses used for projection of 3D films printed in the 35mm “Side by side†anamorphic format which replaced the “two strip†original method. Many two-strip films were later printed in this format so only one projector was needed, and some new ...

Re: Webcam Video Assist
It might be a bit fragile but the main problem is that it needs to be connected to a computer. .... So why use a webcam? Why not use a simple "analogue" board camera into a cheap analogue monitor? After all, it's only to make the viewfinder image available to more people or easier to view...

And don't apologize for your English grammar, either. It is excellent..... better than most Englishmen born in the last 25 years.

Re: Telecine DIY in Action
Thank you Mattias. I suppose I should have guessed as I've also made provision for adding an external motor to my 810D. Mine can also be manually controlled at 16.67 fps for "on the fly"transfers using a simple electronic controller on the original motor.

"In original condition".... presumably therefore the original motor? How did you get the speed down to 5 fps?

Re: Digital super 8 cartridge
[quote="wahiba"]I have been thinking about this and realised that the only element of the movie camera being used is the lens. Therefore it would seem the quickest route to a hybrid would be to fit a cine lens onto a digital camera - one of those cheap flat ones would seem to be a good sac...

Re: Digital super 8 cartridge
And there are many low priced HD Digital cameras out there whose lenses are actually much better than Super 8 camera lenses... so what is the point of deliberately setting out to get an inferior result, simply in order to "use" your Super 8 camera lens? That's the ONLY part of your Super 8...
