Re: Meopta Admira 8IIa question

Ok, I misunderstood what you where talking about. It does have a metal tab that holds the film from the side but I don't know how well. If you look at the third picture I posted with the gate there is a round button in the middle of the pressure plate, the tab is right next to it. I have film in the...

Re: Meopta Admira 8IIa question

The pressure plate is spring loaded and it pops off for easy cleaning of the film path. I have several hundred feet of Ektachrome in the freezer plus I ran some old Kodachrome through it to test. I know I won't see most of the scratches until I put it in the projector but that's a chance I'm willing...

Re: Meopta Admira 8IIa question

Thanks slashmaster, I did not see that one, very helpful! Not the exact same model but it is a variation of it so the innards are likely very similar. That large gear in the upper right is one that I was able to get some grease on with the plate off. It looks like it will eventually get grease to mo...

Re: Meopta Admira 8IIa question

Some pictures of the camera and the inside of the film chamber. The closeup in the film chamber is the metal plate behind the pressure plate that I removed to access some of the gears.

Meopta Admira 8IIa question

I just picked up a Meopta Admira 8IIa and I have a few questions. At first it was running a little slow and noisy so I removed the cover under the pressure plate in the film chamber and lubricated the gears the were accessible. It runs at a good 18 fps now but it's still noisy like it could use some...

Re: Hello from FILM Ferrania!

Welcome to the forum David, very glad you joined. I participated in the Kickstarter and have been following your progress for some time. I found this on the web site: The first film will be initially available in only 4 standard formats: 135 and 120 for still photography, as well as Super8 and 16mm ...

Re: Alternative "cement"?

You can make your own film cement but it's so cheap I don't think it's necessary. This has been discussed here before, there is a recipe in this thread:

I don't think that's film cement on your eBay link.

Re: Another Analog Funeral

I've been using this for several years now, it's a lot of fun and makes great pictures. The prices are going way up since everyone is trying to stock up before it's gone. I just read on another forum that they are only discontinuing it in certain markets. The press release was only in Japanese so th...

Re: Rubberbands

The only time I put rubber bands on film is to keep it from unwinding during shipping. I know Kodak used to secure the film with rubber bands back when the did those mailers from the lab. I store my films on metal reels in metal cans without any problems. I do have a few of those metal clips but don...

Re: Kodak awakens, new S8 camera announced at CES '16

If it is a standard C-mount (which I see no reason for why it shouldn't be), a D-mount (or H8RX c-mount lenses) will not work. I once tried to adapt a Kern-Paillard 13mm f0.9 D-mount lens to my Beaulieu 5008s and it simply could not be done. The focal distance of D-mount is 12.29mm, a far cry from ...

Re: Kodak awakens, new S8 camera announced at CES '16

So it doesn't record any video. It seems you need to hook up a digital recorder like a Ninja to the HDMI output of the camera if you want that function. Also, I wonder how silent the camera will run compared to other models for recording sound. Will a blimp be required? I would say so given the ope...
