If we're looking for a decent K40 replacement that doesn't obsolete about 85% of Super 8 cameras we need a 25D or 40T. It seems there'll be too much trouble with 100D, although it's a lovely stock.

The quality of the tones is exactly why I wanted some. I think it has to be one of the most beautiful stocks ever. I wanted to shoot some while the stock would still be fresh enough.

I think another reason was that people were dissatisfied with the quality of double 8mm. Super 8mm has a 50% increase in frame size.

I would have though space under a tree would do. Otherwise purchase a loading bag.

If you want a very long lasting Double 8mm camera you should consider the Elmo 8-TL. It has a 100 ft magazine on the top like a professional movie camera. Sadly a lot of that is Kahl Film. I've heard bad stories about them.

Perhaps the Bolex factory sells them?

Was MFX B&W or Colour? Or was it a Reversal or a Negative? Does anyone know?
