2-3 stops above total darkness? It also depends on your film speed... you're shooting B&W, right? A simple, bright flashlight might work quite well in that case. I used one to get some soft light on an actor's face in a 'night' scene (dusk, actually) shot on 250D and it looked fine.

Get a faster computer? I remember before I purchased a G3 (years and years ago) later-version-required Quicktime files would not play smoothly.

No, that's been going on for a very long time (since the beginning of eBay, really). As the original poster quoted, it's apparently to prevent sleazy sellers from using the bid histories to find out what people are buying and offer fake items pitched to their own personal purchases.

It probably would, but whether your specific film will benefit is not certain. The stills look pretty good but it can always improve.

The picture quality looks pretty good (the frame line is off in some, as I'm sure you're aware of). Any clips in motion?
