Re: Super8data.com?
Hey all, Thanks to the help of an archiving friend, I was able to reconstruct more than 10,000 further images and pages of the long lost super8data.com site. It's still not complete yet, but way more complete than my first attempt of recontructing it from public archives. Have fun surfing: http://w...

Re: Source for Bell & Howell Service manuals?
Don't know what to tell you about where to get a manual. But if you're just trying to get it apart I can help some. The inside plate that has the model number and serial number should have 1 black Philips screw on the lower middle left of it. Remove it, push in the springs that hold the cartridge an...

Re: Meopta Admira 8IIa question
For Regular 8mm I run a Bolex 18-5, Bolex M8 and a Keystone K109-D. They all seem to have very good registration but now that you brought this up I'll be paying closer attention to it. I do have some commercial 8mm prints, the spooky movies will be coming out for Halloween. So did you end up playin...

Re: H16 Bolex viewfinders?
Yes. They are interchangeable. The ones for the non reflex can be put on the side or the top. The ones for the reflex are just meant to stay on top. There is one that is basically an eyepiece that goes to a mirror at 45 degrees pointing down. If you have a reflex that is the one you need.

Anyone have a kodak ektasound 130-260?
I'm trying to shoot tri-x in a dark club setting. Been thinking about one of those ektasounds because of it's 230 degree shutter and f 1.2 lens which does not lose any light going through a viewfinder. Trying to figure out all the differences between them all. I would be right to say the 130-160 cam...

Was just looking at pictures I googled of one. What are the jacks it has on the other side?

Nice looking camera! Can't truly help but have you run alligator clips to the terminals to make sure it works?

Re: Hello from FILM Ferrania!
Regarding 9.5mm, DS8 and bigger spool sizes, it would be great if I could say, "Sure! Whatever you want, we can cut and perf to order!" :ymparty: In fact, it is our goal to be able to say just those words - in the long run . There are tons of things we have the potential to do... In the l...

Re: Hello from FILM Ferrania!
I contributed to the Kickstarter campaign and was promised "gifts". I selected super 8 and 16mm. 16mm is straight forward but I am thinking about how will the super 8 "gift" be supplied; in a camera ready cartridge or on a spool that will have to be loaded by me into a cartridge...

[possibly there are even more cameras with the little ramps :) I know the R8 an dR10 do have them. So does the Nikon 8x Super Zoom and the Minolta D10. Clearly Japanese designers and engineers then already had a clear understanding and insight of the working and troubles of super-8 cartridges. This...

Re: Anyone here own a Leicina Special?...
I thought the Mekel was only a polavision camera? There are two versions of the camera. They're described here: http://super8wiki.com/index.php/Visual_Instrumentation_Corporation_Model_SP-1_Cine_8_Camera and http://super8wiki.com/index.php/Mekel_300 . The cameras were designed by Mekel Engineering ...

Re: Anyone here own a Leicina Special?...
Considering OP, the camera doesn't have a registration pin or anything else 'special' in its gate design. I think there were a number of posts in the past on this forum by Santo arguing that the construction of the Leicina gate was such that minimal friction would affect the film passing through th...

Re: Source for filters for H8 Rex lenses
Just curious about what kind of filter you guys would want to use for the regular 8 films we can currently get? A polarizing filter?

Thanks Pip, I'll look for Santo... Thanks Silverhalide, you really like those magazine cameras don't you? Have you tried modifying a cartridge to accept single perf? I loaded and ran a couple magazines in that brown bell and howell with the hatch in back. You know the one? Loved the smell of its gr...
