Thanks James. (James even phoned me long distance to chat about it - what a guy). I emailed the lawyer named in the article inquiring as to his opinion.

Re: Praise for Canon 1014E dissolve feature
Does the 1014 work well in low light? Does it have a good, large viewfinder? I need something for my low light situations at weddings. I wouldn't call it a low-light camera: not bad but there are better out there. Nice viewfinder though. Rick, as for your predicament, you can look at this website: ...

I know. Our host did not receive a reminder that it was about to expire and some jerk scooped it up and wants $500 for it. We own friendlyfirefilms.com as well so we are moving everything over there.dave wrote:rick:

Praise for Canon 1014E dissolve feature
I was shooting recently for the Super 8 Circus and needed a camera that does in-camera dissolves (as final product will be screened on film) and most cameras I have seen with this have very sketchy and confusing in-camera dissolves, often getting stuck in the middle of a dissolve. And then I remembe...

Re: the neverending story of the future of super 8
And also he said that Hollywood is making more and more movies using HDV. I know that right now they are camcorder who shoot on HDV This may just be a typo so I won't make a big deal of it but for clarity sake "HDV" is an extremely amateur format and absolutely no one is shooting anything...

I think it would take an enterprising lab to approach Walmart and say "hey, offer this service and we can be your lab".

And BigElvis, don't think we are making fun. It was your humourous tone that got me started. More of that is needed everywhere.

Re: 1014 XL-S Repair Question
So the moral of this story is: "Don't wrap your camera in a T-shirt" As great of an idea as it might sound to be, I would not recommend wrapping your mint, awesome, like new, not a scratch 1014 XL-S in a t-shirt and place it out of reach. See, people who are not a smart as you might not s...

Re: Nizo S48 question
click on s480, then scroll to bottom image - you can just make out the locking button... mitch Thanks Mitch. I know the lever and button are there, was just suspicious that it didn't function like the other higher end models. I am going to presume that it should allow the shutter to be locked open ...

Re: Nizo S48 question
Thanks, but I made a mistake. I should have said S480 (instead of 48), in same class as S560 and S800. S560 and S800 definitely allow shutter to be locked open.
So my revised question: can you do it with the S480?

Nizo S48 question
I know lots of the Nizo's have the ability to lock the shutter open for time exposures. Can someone confirm that you can do this on the S48? I ask because I have one being repaired and I asked the tech to fix that feature (currently shutter does not stay open). But if this model does not do it I can...
