The irony of course being that I'm decendend from displaced former landholders in brittan.... Well, Britain was a terrible place. I can fully understand why everyone jumped ship. Nowadays if you happen to be in London or another metropolitan area with a well-paid job, you are fine. The rest of the ...

Yeah well I'm one of the least nationalistic people you will ever meet. Britain is one of the most class-ridden elitist countries in the world. Not an insult - a fact! Too bad you aren't one of the many, many wonderful exceptions to that generalization. ;) Roger Yeah I'm upper class me. God Save th...

All I can say is that I believe the USA to be one of the least educated countries in the world (on average) with a population who (again in general) luxuriate in ignorance about all things to do with the rest of the world and intellectual matters. I'm sure they're smart enough to recognize an insul...

Er, no, if you don't want a discussion, don't post, if you have nothing to add or respond to in my points. Sleep then.

Geez, talk about a paradigmatic example of my main point! Hilarious. par·a·dig·mat·ic 1. Of or relating to a paradigm. 2. Linguistics Of or relating to the set of substitutional or oppositional relationships a linguistic unit has with other units, such as the relationship between (n) in...

I think an interesting and unexplored angle in this debate is the extent to which postmodern, liberal-democracies have increasingly tended towards infantalisation of the individual and the invocation of fear. This could have something to do with as the intensity of capitalism increases, so too does ...

I wouldn't get bogged down with attempting your film in uncompressed space using a niche codec. Just use MiniDv tape, it is fine for working with super-8. The camera and quality of telecine are what makes the difference.

Haven't read it all yet, but certainly it is nowhere near as bad as most people on this thread are making out. A bit too talkie and not enough evocation of location for my taste but seems pretty solid in terms of a setup. Wil give more feedback when I can. Yes it does seem like a feature fragment ki...

60 Seconds to Save the Earth

Hi All In addition to my Citizen Super-8 work I am currently doing some outreach for Current TV UK. They have a contest running which is called 60 Seconds to Save the Earth and involves directing 15, 30 or 60 seconds spots about how to avert climate change. They can be humorous, deadly serious, enti...
