Re: Regular 8mm Film Available

Sorry, Dennis, I don't speak English very well. What do you mean by "slit"? Spectra Regular 8 printing positive copy for projection form negative or makes only the digital scan? Thank you! :) Tri-x is a reversal film. You shoot it, have Spectra process it, and project it. 8mm film starts ...

Re: Regular 8mm Film Available

Love that camera. Very cool.

Spectra Film & Video will process, slit, and scan. As an added bonus, they're competent, and pleasant to work with.

Regular 8mm Film Available

Wittner just shipped a batch of Tri-x, V3 50D and V3 250D. I ran out of Tri-x, but this solves that problem. The 250D is new. Haven't shot any yet.

He sells the proper adapter from your lenses to 49mm.
Then you can use any standard 49mm filter.

Even better. A stock solution!

Re: Making Kodak Film - Second Edition

Hmmmmmmmmm, they're threatening that if you don't buy now they'll jack up the price to $125 at the beginning of the new year. But what really happens?..... I hope my library gets it cause I'd rather spend money on film or lenses or something... Publishing a book is very expensive, particularly when...

Re: Source for filters for H8 Rex lenses

Sanity-Maximizing suggestion: Have SK Grimes (google them) make you a filter adapter with male bolex thread and a common filter size female thread and buy new filters from bhphoto. I spent a great deal of time cobbling together a collection of series 6 filters to use with older-style filter adapters...

Re: Anyone here own a Leicina Special?...

Thanks Pip, I'll look for Santo... Thanks Silverhalide, you really like those magazine cameras don't you? Have you tried modifying a cartridge to accept single perf? I loaded and ran a couple magazines in that brown bell and howell with the hatch in back. You know the one? Loved the smell of its gr...

Re: Kodak rumors - new film stocks and hardware

Wow, that's very bad news for Ferrania, I would think. But I would also speculate that it will take EK a minimum of 1-2 years to produce any reversal stock at this point. Reversal stock is a much, much different beast than negative stock - with potentially different vendors involved and many supply ...

Re: Anyone here own a Leicina Special?...

Well heck if that didn't stress me out. As I was putting away the Leicina, I realized I have several cameras with AA batteries in them, just plotting to destroy them. Emptied them out... Thanks for sharing the pic and video's! I like just about all your films! Yeah, Sciolist straightend me out on t...

Making Kodak Film - Second Edition

There is not a single person in this forum who does not need this book. The first edition was fantastic. Based on what I've seen so far, the second edition will be mind-blowing.

Re: Anyone here own a Leicina Special?...

It all depends on the specific camera. The general rule seems to be that lower mileage higher priced cameras are best, and cheap, old cameras are worst. My favorite S8 camera to shoot with is Nikon R10, but I really wish it had a folding handle. I don't have any of the high-grade canons. I was about...

Re: Anyone here own a Leicina Special?...

I've got two. I just pulled one out and I really don't see any evidence of pin registration. Here's a picture: http://www.suburbs.com/filmshooting/leicinagate.jpg Here are some films shot with them: 6/66 with automatic exposure in use: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5-k4NAER4Q 10 mm with broken me...

Here's the NBC News story on Kodachrome's demise, from 12/30/10 broadcast. Dwayne's gals told me they were there on 12/29/10.
