Any PDR autobody guys here? What's your approach to reels?

Wonder how PDR autobody guys fix bent reels? I Iet the reel spin on the running projector and very slowly push a marker closer until it leaves a mark on the high spot, then I push the high spot in from the center. Is this a good technique? I also try to fix dents in the cans, but not sure what tip t...

Re: Bolex H16 Rex prism

Why would one want to remove the prism of an H16 reflex? This would change the lens registration to 20.76mm and nothing would focus properly. Also, if I recall correctly, depending upon the age of the reflex camera, you would have no benefits of having a Bolex. No reflex viewing and no variable shu...

Re: Bolex H16 Rex prism

A lens cleaning kit will take care of this problem and is something you should have for any camera or projector. By the way, a none reflex camera almost always gives a better image and it would probably be relatively easy to convert one of these to one. I do have a box of Brillianize, that’s alcoho...

Re: New to Super 8 (Sankyo cm600)

I've had almost the same Sankyo Except mine ran at 9 FPS instead of 36 when you push in the side button. I think I would have rather had yours. Not bad for a first camera, I had a lot of fun with mine. But keep in mind there are ones that give WAY better performance. Compared to other cameras, I don...

Already asked but been a while. Has anyone got any Vantablack?

Was hoping by now someone in here got their hands on a piece of Vantablack? I would get it but I don't live in the UK so ordering it for me is a problem. Anyone here from the UK?

Re: 16mm 50' reload pushed 3 and pulled 1

Nice! I do a lot of experiments with outdated film trying to get the best picture myself!.. I like to overexpose and under process with the outdated stuff because it helps reduce the haze.

Re: What have you been working on lately?

Yes, I understand a three-elements lens by triplet. The Cooke triplet lens. The point about cleanliness with photographic lenses is not dust but veil. One has to avoid grease in any case. I sometimes wear nitrile fingerstalls or cotton gloves with larger lenses, the small ones I pick with tweezers ...

Re: What have you been working on lately?

Yesterday I disassembled a clip-on mount 1½ inch, f/3.5 lens for Bell & Howell Filmo 8s. It bears the name TELATE and is a Wollensak. It was also available with the ⅝"-32 thread. B. & H. defined an A, a B, a C, and a D mount for their cameras, the latter two are better known. This lens...

Re: New Kodak Super 8 Camera Preview

I talked to some of the younger generation today at Church about Super 8mm film. Basically in their 20's. There was an absolutely not all-around consensus. They want nothing to do with 8mm. And it wasn't like "Hey that's pretty cool retro". It was a firm "no". And these guys are...
