Re: V3 50D, Angenieux 6-70, Zeiss Cinema prime, Letus Anamor
I really like what I'm looking at here! Yes, I say DON'T use grain management or reduction. Do use that Zeiss! What is "Warp Stabilizer"? I think if that camera has good registration I wouldn't use a stabilizer. How did that pine cone taste?... Oh yeah, one more thing. You should use a too...

Re: Fomapan redux
So what are the inconsistencies you get between films? Is the film speed a little more or less than the 100 asa it's supposed to be? I've filmed then watched 3 of them so far and have not noticed a difference between them yet.

Re: Fomapan redux
Not to throw gasoline on a fire, but I am still mystified about the availability of Fomapan DS8mm film in 100ft rolls. When I could not find any for sale in the USA, I searched the web page for Fomapan to see if they still made it. I kept checking back over time but still it was not available in 10...

Re: Fomapan redux
I just ordered and recieved a 100 foot roll of fomapan myself and cost me less than $40 including shipping. Before that I had run 3 of the 33 foot rolls for $15 each from Amazon. For my next order I plan to order more numerous 100 foot rolls to save on shipping. If it were possible to get 400 feet o...

Re: Elmo Super 8 Sound 230S-XL Shooter question
Maybe he means he can hear the sound of the capstan motor for the sound head revving up but the separate motor for the claw and takeup doesn't run? And yes, it should run without a cartridge.

Does anyne here mix their own fixer powder?
I'm looking for a little help to get the most out of or even make my own fixer. I'm first of all still confused about how long you can use it. I already know to use a test strip to see how long it takes to clear and I know with each use it can take a little longer each time. But how long is too long...

Are D-mount lenses too small for super 8?
If you had an adapter would they work good? Or would they be blurry in the corners?

Re: How do you test your bleach and clearing bath?
It depends on the type of film. Discard it when it has a slight green tint. The bleach can be used a lot, just filter it after each pair of rolls or so. Discard it when it's turning dark brown. Foma film leaves a lot of dirt in the bleach batch, so it shortens its useful life faster than other film...

Sure am!.. How many films would a 1.75 liter bottle be good for? Or how many months would it be good for?avortex wrote:Are you using sodium sulfite for clearing?

How do you test your bleach and clearing bath?
I already know how to test my developer and fixer and have a good idea how long they last, but I'm still new to processing films as reversal. How do I know when my Potassium Dichromate bleach and clearing bath are too old or exhausted to use? Also I was able to compare how well my 16mm processing wa...

Re: Could use a little help processing film as reversal.
When I got my bag of d-19 I mixed half the bag in a 2 liter glass bottle. heated it up to about 115 degrees. That was a mistake. Why heat up the solution? Two things developing baths dislike: oxigen and warmth. The warmer the bath is the faster it oxidizes. Remember that developing baths act as red...
Give a break down of what you have done to get to this , No images on film ? too many factors . starting from the beginning .
I definitely got images on film. They are just about a stop or more too dark all through the film. If I remember right I believe I shot at f 8 around noon at...

Re: Could use a little help processing film as reversal.
I got my d-19!... Have been been processing ti-x and fomapan at 7 minutes developer, 10 minutes in a weak solution of bleach, 4 minutes clearing bath, 5 minutes developer and 4 minutes fixer. Have been getting very good results with the Tri-x and Fomapan! Then I tried to do a couple ADOX super 8 ca...
