Re: Discussions about a hypothetical new S-8 camera

Not to mention that this camera is going to have its own pressure plate and is pin registered. Sure, super-8 plastic cartridge design is horrible, but this camera might be the thing that is able to circumvent the worst problems while still retaining the good things: convenience and the larger super-...

Re: Ferrania hope to start film manufacture in 2014

Some higher RMS slide films:
Fujichrome Provia 400F Professional, RMS 13
Agfachrome 160T, RMS 13
Ektachrome 200, RMS 13
Kodachrome 200, RMS 16
Fujichrome 400, RMS 16
Ektachrome 400X, RMS 19

Quite many of these are from the 90s I think.

Re: Discussions about a hypothetical new S-8 camera

There's an almost fully functional prototype(*) with the featureset described in my original post (otherwise it didn't make sense to ask right ^_^) we are currently in the process of filming demo video's with it as well as finalizing the firmware - and believe me there's a truck load of firmware in...

Discussions about a hypothetical new S-8 camera

As we all know, from time to time there are discussions about a new super-8 camera and would it be nice if it had this and that feature.. Well, now there is a new discussion on Cinematography.com on a "hypothetical" super-8 camera, which would have these following features: A newly designe...

Re: Ferrania hope to start film manufacture in 2014

Yes, this is certainly very good news. Especially the part about them having been able to solve many problems related to downsizing the production, which is crucial for film to survive in this new landscape. If Ferrania is able to start the production next year it might become the color equivalent o...

Re: shouting into an empty room

as the title says, just lately it seems that posting a topic on all the film forums has dwindled off and it can take at least 3 to 5 days for a reply. Is there any reason that you can think of that causes this. My view is that all the subject matter has already been discussed and maybe people who a...

Re: CHROME 200D Processing?

Can be home processed. There is no rem-jet backing in E-6 process films. Wow :) thanks - that is good news!! :D Yeah, especially in 16mm format this is the film for those who wish to shoot cheap color reversal film for projecting. I myself am waiting for my 366 meters of 16mm AGFA 200D, cost me onl...

Re: AGFA large quantity discount

Wittner's latest discount: Buy 30 packages, pay only 299 € per package. Not bad. Cheaper to buy 16mm color reversal than super-8 even if one bought only one package (499 € -- 30.5 meters would then be 20.79 €). Not to mention this latest discount: 30.5 meters of 16mm would cost onl...

Re: AGFA large quantity discount

Is this material thinner? As it is polyester. Would this 72.5 meter fit 60 meter spools or 4 pcs 15 meter cartridges? Might be interesting to use in Single-8 then. It's somewhat thinner and it has been reported to run very steady in S-8 and work even in some super-8 cameras thought to be dead (= no...

Re: AGFA large quantity discount

Well, they are not in the consumer business and probably don't want to go there. Others like Wittner will do that business instead for them, they are after all offering this film in 30,5m 35mm rolls for still photographers and according to some discussions on APUG they might bring it available in 13...

Re: AGFA large quantity discount

André, no need to split and perforate to get cheaper super-8 200D, it's already available from Wittner: 72.5 meters for 49.90 EUR http://wittner-kinotechnik.de/katalog/04_filmm/s8_meter.php That's only 0,69 EUR / meter or for 15 meters 10,34 EUR. You just have to use refillable cartridges. But re...
