Re: I have a new business plan!

For the record, VW is introducing their L1 this year, which *does* get over 200MPG.

Re: I have a new business plan!

Might I point out that it does not have to be an all-or-nothing solution either. Different fuels for different needs. According to Foreign Policy Magazine, Wired magazine, and Gibson Consulting (I like multiple sources for clarification) California consumesd 20 billion gallons of gasoline... for the...

shooting a wedding

**delurks for a bit** Yeah, I know I've been silent, a lot, lately. Been buried in day to day functions, and not letting forums distract. But now, my sister is getting married, and has graciously agreed to let me shoot the wedding for her. So, while I am mostly using my stills, I plan on having my C...

That is awesome! Beats a film camera any day and thats a fact! **looks at it, then at his 1913 Kodak Premo 4x5...."" Come and talk to me when they make a digital able to last as long as my classics, of course with the depth of field, integral tilt/shift movements, oh and it has to be able...

Re: Reel-to-Reel Tape Recorders

I'd skip digital entirely since you have all of this analog equipment, and use what you have already. It's your movie, make it your way.

You have a good setup it sounds like. Endulge it. Audiophiles would kill to work with it, make them envyous.

Re: Zeiss Moviflex GS8 Lens problem

I believe Super 8 Man has one of these, he'd be the person to ask. But whatever you do, do not force it until you know what is wrong inside, else you could damage it very badly.

Re: Film Not Advancing in Camera?

Let me guess, you used a 12v instead of the 9v it needs?

I dug through my box of stuff, I have an 806 here as well, but it too is a paperweight.

Re: Film Not Advancing in Camera?

I have the 1206, model up from yours. Had this happen once with a roll of Plus-X. Fixing it was simple, I advanced the film by-hand in the gate by 5-6 frames, then put it back in. Ran like a champ after that.

Re: 8mm camera info

Got it, but have some, well, odd news about it.

The light metering box above the lens is blocking the dog-leg viewfinder from fitting up. I can use it, only if I take off the viewfinder. Just my luck.

Re: Super 8 burglary

A good thing that you have such an odd collection, hit the local pawn shops I'd say, and let us all keep an eye out on the lists like ebay and craigslist for the titles.

Re: Super 8 burglary

Egads, so sorry to hear...but um...

how'd you land the 16mm print of El Mariachi? I've been looking for full prints of a ton of movies I've wanted to see with minimal luck (did find a 35mm print of Black Hole tho, ticked off I couldn't grab it at the time).
