E100D in Double 8mm is back!

It’s a lot more expensive than it used to be but it’s back. I missed out on it last time they had some but got a few rolls this time.

Re: Ektachrome Is Back!

I bought a few rolls of the 35mm slide film that is available for pre-order from Freestyle Photo. It sounds like it will be $40 per cartridge for Super 8.

Re: The return of Ektachrome - CES 2017

Good article on the manufacturing of the new Ektachrome: https://www.popsci.com/inside-kodak-factory-photos#page-15 Another recent article: https://www.thephoblographer.com/2018/06/12/kodak-new-ektachrome-100-better-scans/ Kodak posted this on Facebook a few days ago: Our development team has been m...

Re: Hit the jackpot!

What Minolta and lenses did you get? Are you going to use them? Got a perfectly good Minolta SRT 101 with a metal body body cap and a pristine 55mm f1.2 lens (away from it right now, I’d have to check on that for sure) with both caps, UV and polarizing filters. Some M-mount Vivitar extenders were a...

Re: Multiple Choice

I’ve heard it from several different sources that UV light kills the mold. I do the same thing every now and then but I don’t use a sieve.

Re: Paillard Bolex - help??

A lot of the value you have could be in the lenses. I would search eBay sold listings for your lenses, especially the Switars. Of course condition is important, haze, mold, separation and scratches are quite detrimental to the value.

Re: Film storage

I think some people prefer cardboard boxes because they let more air circulate around the film to help prevent VS.

Re: Film storage

I have a few storage books that are made of thin plastic. They look like books but when you open it they have holes that the 50' reels press into, they are quite cheap construction. Otherwise you can just stack them in a cardboard box. Most of the time I consolidate film onto larger reels leaving a ...

This is the latest on Ektachrome. It looks like 2018 now but it sounds like they are making progress.

Re: Hello from FILM Ferrania!

This is a shot I took with the Ferrania P30 Alpha that they recently made available to the Kickstarter backers. Shot with a Leica IIIa and developed in Rodinal 1:50. It's nice but still needs a little work. There were some scratches on the base and the slitting and perforation seemed a bit rough. Ca...
