Re: Kern switar 10mm 1.6 works on both reflex and non reflex?

Short answer is yes, it will work and "focus" fine, however: The "RX" lenses include an aberration correction to account for the prisms in the "RX" bolex cameras-- if you are not using an RX bolex then you do not want the correction. That said, the effect is minimal and...

Re: Angenieux Filter Size

Series 7 filter.

The "sun shade" is the series filter holder, as well as a sun shade.

You can also screw a threaded filter, but I don't recommend it-- it is likely to vignette.

Re: Battery of Beaulieu 4008 ZM 2 NOW

You can do it yourself. Disassemble the old battery--this is by far the hardest part, you will need some sort of spanner tool. If you have the 250mAh version of the dead battery you can recell with six 2/3 size AAA NiMh, the 1000mAh can be recelled with full size AAA. Connect all cells in serial and...

Re: Does the pressure plate really help to get stable pics?

I don't know if it is worth the price, but it does work as claimed. It is espesically noticable towards the end of the cartridge, as it practically eliminates focus breathing and weaving. Mid roll on a long shot there is no difference, but before I used it I would simply have to let the first and la...

Re: best c-mount lenses

I don't have personal experience with the older arri glass, but I have rented the ultra 16 6mm, 12mm, and 25mm--they are really sharp. (my client did not like the look, and we had to work at it in post to make it "creamy") From what I have heard, the older arri glass is just as good--but I...

Re: best c-mount lenses

In general, this is true, but I have rented the arri lightweight zoom and it was just as good as the primes; and from still photography I do know for a fact that high end zooms only give up weight and size, not performance. If you need a zoom for super 8, the ang. f1.2 zooms are probably the best in...

Re: Durh !!! 64t which filter ????????

My B 4008 iv and 7008 do not have any filter.

I have never shot 64t, but looking at the spec I suggest W 85 (not "b").

Re: Is pro8mm still on the naughty list with most?

OK, I will put in my 2 cents-- Pro8 are, in a word, excellent. All my negative work has been done with them, the processing is spot on (I usually pull .5 so it is not small matter). The carts run fine, no jamming (not that I ever had one jam). On two occasions I had the colorist re-do parts, but thi...

Re: kodak online store ---

s8 vision = $10.16 /cart
s8 e64t = $9.80
s8 rev = $7.41

16 bw neg = 13.64 / 100ft spool.
16 color neg = 25.54
16 bw rev= 14.41

How nice is that? Bummer it is US only.

kodak online store ---

Am a sure this is old news, but I just discovered the Kodak educational online "store". With student email, I picked up 20 rolls of e64t for $200 shipped to my door. Budget in ~ $5 for processing at Walmart and the sub $15 cart is back. S8 and 16 mm only at the store--I guess students stay...

The horse may be dead now, but I did write & call a few times with 2000 in hand, to "pre-order" 2 cams.

There was noone on the other side to take my money or write a response.

Simple: Red is underexposure, yellow over. When running the display is skewed to the underexposure (red) since now the mirror shutter forwards some light to the film, not to the meter (and the viewfinder) . So the cam is working fine, at least in that respect. It is however, a shame to even metion t...

Now, if someone would tell my why VOB files won't play the sound when I rename them to a MPG extension and drop them on the timeline, that would be great! I can. Your software "assumed" the incorrect multiplexing scheme. If you re-mux correctly the audio will reappear. For example, demux ...
