If You don't get a Toronto screening at any of the "big fests" send it to the University of Toronto Film Festival as I am sure we'd screen it based on the success you've had (I haven't seen it). We are in March 2009 but the app isn't up yet. Check in the fall.

Re: california
Mattias has been a member of Filmshooting for years. He's a capable and knowledgeable filmmaker. He also doesn't suffer fools lightly, but that's not necessarily a bad thing - someone has to call a spade a spade. I'm fairly certain he and I have vehemently disagreed about something or other in the ...

Re: "Pass The Cart" project, Official Thread
Stating that "10 feet is not hard to understand. Hopefully the other carts won't be so unbalanced" comes across as both pompous and arrogant. I certainly didn't mean it to sound that way. I apologize if anyone took offence. And CHAS you came in under, so I had no complaint about that. Sin...

Re: "Pass The Cart" project, Official Thread
With 10 feet each we should have had about 40 seconds each and then that safety buffer was built in. By my count: James E shot about 60" (a little over) Chas only shot 30" (why short?) Pelle 90" (ouch. I liked the footage but ouch) Me 20" I fail to understand how people can be so...

Re: Guy Maddin's My Winnipeg
I also invited Ken Finkleman a couple of weeks ago. He took the film and said he'd think about it. That's funny. Sounds like he was in fine "Newsroom" form. If you ever talk to him you feel like you are IN an episode of the Newsroom. Totally surreal. For those of you who don't know it, Ke...

Re: Guy Maddin's My Winnipeg
I managed to meet Guy in the lobby and invite him to shoot for our super 8 circus. He said yes[...] Score!! You (are) the man (a greatly esteemed individual) Rick! Saddest Music has to be one of the best movies ever... Mitch I also invited Ken Finkleman a couple of weeks ago. He took the film and s...

I am not sure what you mean by "the old way". Didn't know it had changed. You'd have to ask them. http://www.exclusivefilm.net/downix wrote: Does the lab you used still process Tri-X the old way, so I can match the footage up?

Re: Guy Maddin's My Winnipeg
Maddin is a big super 8mm enthusiast. He has incorporated the tiny gauge in most of his films (possibly with the exception of The Saddest Music in the World ). I'm envious of all who have seen My Winnipeg . Truly the most fresh, original and genuinely eccentric Canadian filmmaker working today. I g...

Guy Maddin's My Winnipeg
Saw a special screening of Maddin's latest, My Winnipeg, tonight. Special because he did live narration. When I got there it was "sold out" but I stood in the rush line and managed to score one of the last seats. Brilliant film. A strange (big surprise) mix of autobiography and historical ...

Based on the exposure issues it may not be worth spending $300 to fix.

If you're stuff is dark are you sure the shutter is all teh way open? The shutter is variable and maybe you have it closed down without knowing it.

Re: Your vote please: fix it or dump it
Actually I disagree a little with the others. The D10 is a good camera and typically runs a couple hundred or more on ebay. So if your only cost of acquiring it is $300 I'd say yes. Of course you can get good, perfectly usable cameras for much less, but I am talking specifically about the D10. Howev...

I like the idea and Flatwood can cover my piece with music. Thanks Lost Coyote.

Consider it in the mail.
I don't need any contributions to the $16 since everybody incurs costs along the way. (Only wanted to avoid the $50 for obvious reasons).
