Hey thanks for checking my site out guys 8)

I miss film but don't miss the amount of money I spent on it. The DVX is an awesome tool.

I used to be quite active on this board and come back to it occasionally.

Hey Scott, how are you doing?

Best,

Steven Dempsey

Okay, try this. It's much shorter but much better quality. Let me know if you can't play it.

I have very little experience with compression for the Web. Any recommendations for settings would be appreciated.

Pansonic DVX100a DIY Telecine

I decided, for the hell of it, to try doing a telecine using my DVX100a in 24p advanced mode. I put it next to the projector, projected the film image onto a piece of bright white ink jet paper and start shooting. I had to adjust the shutter speed to 1/24 on the DVX to avoid flickering but I think t...

New HD camera inspired by Super 8 Design?

http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/pa ... _18_04.htm

It actually mentions that it looks like a Super 8 camera in the article. :)

Looks like it would go well with the world's smallest Super 8 camera http://www.8mm.filmshooting.com/scripts ... ght=#35909

My intention would be to shoot 4x3 with my Super 8 camera but with widescreen in mind and then use the HDV via the workprinter to shoot 16x9 by cutting the top and bottom off the original frame by zooming in enough. Final output would be widescreen HDTV. Sounds cool... :)

Not sure what you mean by that. You have to shoot from something in order to transfer Super 8 to digital and I wouldn't be shooting off a screen.

Super 8 and Hi-def

I see that Sony is soon to release a 3CCD chip HDV camera and I'm wondering how this would work with a Workprinter. The captured Super 8 footage should be better than even the best Rank transfer, don't you think?

In what newspaper did the story appear? Is there an online version of it? I'd love to read it.

Sony Bayonet mount adapter?

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a Sony Bayonet mount to step up ring adapter? I have some Century Optics lens (including a 16:9 lens adapter) that I want to try with my Canon Autozoom (same thread size as my Sony video camera) but they only fit on the actual bayonet mount of the video c...

I agree, I got mine for something like 59 Euro...

You can get the Bauer 715 for cheaper than this also...the slight increase in the speed of the lens is worth it.
