Re: Tri-X : Who is Cheapest?

In my experience the cheapest place to buy Super8 film in the UK is from Kodak themselves: http://motion.kodak.com/GB/en/motion/index.htm Click on the word "Vision" on the left and you will get the contact details somewhere in that document. I used to deal with Dan Clark - I notice his nam...

digital projection is fantastic. the point of projection is to show images, and if technology lets us see images that we wouldn't otherwise see it's secondary how "organic" or whatever it looks, in my humble opinion. it's way too expensive to distribute film prints, which is a huge proble...

The thing with digital projection, no matter how good the projector, is that the image is going to be "dead" It might not have any weave, scratches, dust (no it probably will have some dust and some dead pixels too) and it won't go out of focus on the splices that it doesn't have. It can ...

on 35mm prints, you would be able to notice the difference in pictures when shot with that lens vs the 80-200 f2.8ED...and the price point for the latter lens is very reasonable...everyone is getting rid of it in favour of the silent wave and the 70-200 digital varieties so they are real bargains. ...

I know it kinda sucks N90 and higher should work with the ring free lenses. I want the 70-200 but instead I will have to go with the 80-200. Using that zoom is nice on 16. It isn't really long but the crispness is nice and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. 1k for an AFS lens is a pretty good deal. ...

Adobe Premier Pro 1.5 help

Hi everyone.

I can't for the life of me work out how to insert a clip into an existing sequence - ie. how do I "make space" to fit it in, so to speak?

Thanks for any help,

Matt

I thought so - and errs on the side of slight overexposure if I remember rightly.

ie I believe V200T would expose at 160ASA and V500 at 400ASA

Reference the orange mask in colour negative - you have to have this because the dyes formed in the emulsion on exposure are not "perfect" and the mask helps to correct it. Early colour negative films had no mask, but were notoriously difficult to colour balance in printing.

I may be wrong, but the last time I used Pro8 film it was notched and worked fine in my Nizo 6080.

I would recommend phoning them to check.

That has to be possibly the worst ebay auction I have ever seen - the feedback is terrible (even the positive feedbacks are often 'negative' in some way) and did you read the terms and conditions!

I've been very busy myself recently and made my first post in ages on the John Pytlak thread yesterday.

I've been spending so much time shooting stills and in my darkroom (amongst other things) I haven't had time to think about the small movie format.

Have a good time Roger.

Your interest in others and your efforts to always help as much as you could, and impart your great wealth of knowledge, I admired so much. I remember I once sent you an email with a question - your reply was so extensive, and helpful, and you took time out to give me the advise - you will be sadly ...

Personally I find white specs more distracting and I think tend to show more easily.

They do have a wide selection of raw chemicals - incase you wanted to make your own - maybe it is possible to make your own?
