Super-8 and Filmmaking in the UK

Super-8 has a very very strong user base in the UK. I spent 11 years running a Super-8 dept in London and I know that new Super-8 users appeared everyday of the week. Currently if one is to buy a single roll of Super-8 using one of the few shops left in London to supply all services it will cost app...

Re: The Dark Knight

My favorite digital film is Miami Vice. But overall I think digital effects in movies date very quickly, like the last three Star Wars movies. Even though I love movies shot on film and I still shoot film, I love digital video more and enjoy the challenge of making it look great it it's own right. A...

I recently updated iTunes automatically. After the update I couldn't open iTunes. The reason, I now need to buy the new Mac operating system. So because I haven't burnt my iTunes library to CD's I can't play them, so who owns my tunes? at the moment not me. I love having all my music stored digitall...

Low Budget movie

Thank you to everyone for viewing the trailer so far and the opinions of the members here are really useful. I will cut a new trailer soon as we are fine tuning everything. The sound is being worked on as we speak. As regards to the ratio, I really love the aspect ratio and I think we make really go...

Low Budget Film

LOL  Yeah the dialogue is from a scene. The locations and sound were the most problematic of the shoot. A brief synopsis of the film from the British Film catalogue: Girl follows the dark journey of Christina in search of her identity & missing husband Kirk. This sc-fi road movie set in the...

I am being persuaded by the Actress of both films to enter it intoother festivals before Cannes, and now that you mention it Mattias, it probably is a good idea to do this. One added bonus for both my films is that Helena Mitchell the actress has been signed up for the $40 million movie Daisy Scarle...

Hi
The Anamorphic in use is an Iscorama Inflight Projection Lens which is 2x. The Inflight was made for inflight Cinema projectors on planes.
The Inflight lens has approx 1/1/4" back barrel so it only works with a Nalcom camera or DV camera as far as I know.
Regards
Jake

I disagree, but then I would as I authored it. The cinematography in use is very specific, but without explaining the narrative I can't expand on that. Autochrome is now completely shot and in post. Every scene in the film has been shot on Super-8 and also on DV. So I have to decide which format the...

Thankyou! But we've been takin calls all day from worried customers about the End of Super-8. I think the handling of the Kodak lab in Switzerland closure has not helped Kodak & it would be nice to see some positive motion picture publicity from them in the mainstream press, but it's probably no...
