Re: Anyone tried processing 16mm through Walmart?

I have been away from the board for about a year, nice to see nothing has changed. Still hashing out the great problems of capitalism. Last I checked, Cuba is still open, so is North Korea and China, I don't think there are any Wal-Marts there, you guys might consider reloacting :). Just teasing, gu...

I sometimes wonder if it would't be easier for all concerned in we just paid an extra 0.25 for a DVD as a "Pre-Crime" piracy tax per unit.

OK, you use an ND filter to block light. Sometimes you may want to use a certain apeture, but still have too much light. Most lens look best two stops short of the smallest. You may also want to use an open apeture to create a shallow DOF. ND filters are not just for when you still have too much lig...

Just to be clear, Awand is spot on. Double 8 is not double perf 16.

I recently discovered something. I discovered that the best material to make a teapot out of is solid gold. So I made up a bunh of solid gold tea pots. Now, I was wondering if I could borrow several hundred thound dollars for a nation wide marketing campainge. I know that there really aren't too man...

You don't get away that easy. Sooner or later you will end up with another camera in your hand.

Or you be sitting there turning up the contrast and fiddling with the gamma, trying to give your video a reversal stock look.

Once it's in your blood, there is no getting away.

See ya

Hi CDG, I think it will help you alot if you get a book on 35mm photography from your local media center. Look for an older book, one that doesn't mention digital. Film is a complicated medium. As for when a film needs a filter, it depends. All film is calibrated to a certain "color of white.&q...

One of the great paradoxes of photography is that many of the people who enjoy it are scared to death of cracking open a book and trying to learn something that's a bit complicated. That's why "auto everything" cameras are so popular. That's why when Super8 came it, it too off like wildfir...

Are we a film shooting slum?

I got kind of freaked by this comment on the other film board. Geez, makes you wonder who your friends are. I thought we were all in this together. ':(' I added the bold highlight, but I didn't change a word. Everything after my name is copied word for word. Sad Joe Clive Tobin post Yesterday, 04:16...

It all depends on the target market.

For the "atry farty" crowd, they would love it and feel it was just oh so cleaver.

For Joe Popcornpail, they want the good guy to kill the bad guy and ride off with the girl. Very heartwarming.

Skip cheap gimmicks, just shoot a good story.
