Re: Sankyo EM-60XL issues?

did you try it with a film loaded? l’m not familiar with this model, but on some the drive cog will only turn with a film cassette loaded.

lf you can’t get it to work, l suggest you might give it to someone for parts for free since you got it for free.

Re: Kodak prices

Please note that Kodak increased price of all Super 8 products to $29.99 from $25.95. This is the price on the Kodak site. The price from B&H and other resellers is higher. Is this a hint for the price of the new E100? Actually $29.99 wouldn't be too bad but I have a feeling the E100 price will...

Re: Tips for filming clouds

Exciting times! The forum was full of activity with all sorts being discussed. I joined the forum in 2003. My fave years for posts was between 2005 and 2007, lots of activity and lots of info gleaned and shared! It is such a shame that the forum is so empty these days. I wonder what happened to ever...

Re: does any one else smell a rat here

Whether it is "too much" depends on how much you use. 20 carts is only 1000 feet, 50 minutes.....enough to make a nice 20 minute short if you don't make many mistakes/retakes. Back in the day when film was relatively cheap I used to shoot 400 feet just on a family holiday. So for someone ...

Re: Kodak prices in Europe double those in the US?

The EU doubling has nothing to do with component prices. It is a chosen policy which only hurts the business. Customers can buy from all over the world. It is unclear who ups the price so much. It may be that Kodak USA doesn't allow a proper wholesale price but it may just as well be that Kodak imp...

Re: Kodak prices in Europe double those in the US?

The world of film is changing, many used Super 8 because of its simplicity and its cheapness and in the last year that has changed dramatically with huge price increases. I think some of the predictions mentioned here may come true, with the way things are going I wouldn't be surprised if by May 20...

Re: Kodak prices in Europe double those in the US?

Yes it's a pretty stiff increase. Newbies shooting video who also considered shooting film were scared off when it was $15 a roll. My guess is that it won't be on the roster for too much longer and other companies will fill carts... hopefully. As I've boaseted on other threads, invested on a person...

Re: Single 8 film

Hi Mark, Tak sold his last 200 carts of Fujicrhome R25N last spring. Those were the last of the fuji made carts as production stopped the year before. There are some repacked filmstocks in single 8 carts available from Retro8 in Japan and Frank Bruinsma at the Super 8 reversal Lab as AJ advised. I w...

Kodak prices in Europe double those in the US?

As we all know Kodak are increasing the prices of the super 8 portfolio of film stock almost 25%. This is tough for those who buy and shoot film in the US, but please consider shooters in Europe. (What about the rest of the world?) It seems that there is a big difference in prices between Kodak US a...

Re: Huge Price Increase for Super 8 Film

I don't think it necessarily means the death knell. Remember they put up the prices of all the other stocks when they cancelled 100D in December 2012. Prices for super 8 carts have been increasing across the board, including repackaged stock available through other companies. The current prices for ...

Re: First Negative Processing and Telecine Test

The bulk of it looks pretty good, but there's a lot of inconsistencies in it. If I'm a customer and saw uneven, blotchy results, I'd tell everybody to avoid you. Sorry to be so blunt, I'm just saying most people are looking for perfect processing or they'd do it themselves. I agree. You've got to g...
