there's one called waveknife i used in the past. you can adjust the threshold, when it dips under the threshold for the length of time you specify it splits it into a new track.

one thing to try would be to run the cable through a DI (direct inject) box in to a microphone input on your audio mixer. If you can find a DI box with an earth lift switch you can experiment with this setting. This can completely get rid of hum if it's caused by difference in earth potentials. Mayb...

If eq is all you need i would transfer the sound from your hi-md to your computer & use some freeware audio editing software like http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ for the eq.

The Go! Team - lots of S8 at gig

Helloo! Went to see The Go! Team at the Academy 2 in Manchester Last nite. It was a really great show, with visuals projected behind the band throughout. A lot of it looked like super 8 & there was the occasional tell-tale gorrilla hair, just checked their site & sure enuf they are in to the...

in Super8 recent K40 always looks less stable than tri-x to me. even when shot in the same cameras on the same day. and while i have experience a couple of tri-x carts jamming, once they were freed up, shot & processed they looked as stable as any other tri-x (except for the few frames where the...
