Re: Super 8 Filmmaker Magazine Online !

The only problem is the copyright issue. If I put them for sale I will get a lawsuit from the publisher. :-\

Re: Super 8 Filmmaker Magazine Online !

Only in B&W. I have all the issues and I have thought to scan them all, in colour. Then it is much easier to read them everywhere as PDF. B-)

I have used it succesfully almost two years now. The zoom (16x) is just fine for the job and the picture quality is as good as it can be.

Ok, I have one also. I use it with my Beaulieu 7008 Pro and Pro II. I just set the focus on my lens to infinity and use the Iscorama focus ring to do the focusing. That is the correct way. I do not know why your lens works the opposite way. Are you sure you had all components with the lens you recei...

Hi Andy, I have transferred sound with an external USB Creative USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX with my Elmo GS 1200 and a synchronizer from Pedro with great succes. He has syncro systems for Bauer also. The sound can be lifted in perfect sync. http://www.super8sync.com/English/P1008GS.html http://www...

I'm not sure if I would agree that auto exposure would give the best results. The best results you get if you change exposure manually, but it also digs a deeper hole in your wallet. Using a onelight transfer lets you get away cheaper, but with some scenes overexposed and some scenes underexposed. ...

[quote="richard p. t."]Actually I think the point of the 'early-adopter' incentive is that you make a 1000E deposit, then you also get another 1000E discount so need to pay another 3200E making a total of 4200E.

Ikonoskop will make a special offer for the DS-8 version in the next issue of smallformat (5/2006). Will be published in 3 weeks. The magazine just arrived and, yes, there is a great offer to have a DS-8 version. If at least 25 customers are willing to make a deposit of € 1000, they will buil...

In my experience, the sound stripe often is better than the film image at times. At least on store bought movies. Home movies, the sound is also pristine (well, you get my idea). Just cause it's old, doesn't mean its not any good. Well, except for old people though! lol. (PS - I think you get my sa...

I don't understand what Ericus is doing. Is he using two projectors? Is the GS1200 playing back one frame of sound at a time? That would be odd... Mitch I just transfer the film with WP, then transfer the sound with Elmo+sync box. Usually (here in Finland, at least) the sound films are/were shot wi...

Re: Sound Striped Film

I use a workprinter xp to transfer, so I wonder if recording the sound off a sound projector will be a pain to sync in FCP. I think that it has some speed up slow down filters for audio, so it'll be interesting to see. I guess I'm gonna have to buy a sound projector. I use WP XP to transfer sound f...

I have a WorkPrinter with a very good 3CCD camera and even now the resolution it produces is too high :) , if possible. Every hair and scratch is very noticeable. How about then with HD? This is more a matter of the used backlight principle. The more diffusion, the less scratches you will notice. A...

There was an article in small format 2/2006 about flashSCAN. "The flashSCAN camera already offers higher resolution than PAL is capable of reproducing. Future HDV signal will be accessible through the firewire interface". He (Frank Ortwein) doubts that even higher resolution makes sense fo...
