Thanks for the information, but need a bit of clarification- BolexPlusX: Have you been sending PK59s to FairLawn or the mailers to which I have been refering which state, "KODAK PROCESSING NOT AVAILABLE IN THE UNITED STATES" PK59 is a Qualex product. This mailer isn't. I fear it won't be a...

Prepaid K40 processing in US question

I am in the US and I just received some cartidges of K40 with mailers for NON-US MARKETS. I called Kodak and was told to mail to the Canadian address(Toronto). No problem- vive le Canada-but I was wondering if any of you have experience doing it this way from the States? Any idea on quality and turn...

Kodak says that there is a "spectral quality" difference between tungsten and daylight. I'll take their word for it. Probably the color temp as you suggested. For practical purposes you'll notice that between asa 200 and 160, there is only a 1/3 stop difference! I'm sure many will disagree...

It will have a cyan cast to it- like a washed-out light blue. Depending on how your camera's meter works, it could be a little overexposed as well. I would guess that you will have footage good enough to tell if the slow motion is working.

Hello-
If you are using an AOL browser, that is probably the problem. I experienced the exact scenario you are describing when I first joined accessing the forum via AOL's browser. Try using a different browser. I use Explorer and everything works fine.

What I have come to realize, is that the linear polarizer is affecting the light in such a way that it "tricks" the camera's meter into thinking there is more light than actually availabe. Because a polarizer removes reflections e.g. specular highlights when the angle is right, the intensi...

Thanks. After reading the thread you pointed out, it looks as if I'll have to use a circular.

Linear Polarizer on 1014- correct exposure?

Greetings- I mounted a LINEAR polarizer on my camera and noticed that the aperture actually CLOSED about 2 stops after I polarized the light thus darkening the scene. It should have OPENED to keep everthing at 18% grey- yes, I was using a grey card. I have never had a problem using this filter with ...

Here is what one can expect using a C-8 wide converter on a 6.5mm lens. The pictures are through a Canon 1014xl-s. The camera is about 1.5m from the screen windows.

Since I don't know how to put jpgs in a post, I can email "with c-8 and without" photos thru the viefinder of my 1014. The converter has extreme barrel distortion. If it was a true fisheye lens this kind of distortion would be expected, but it's only equivalent to about a 24mm lens on a 35...

Lucas- I went to try your technique but there was no discrepancy in focus since following the "measuring to film plane" method. The REAL problem is with the owner's manual. It suggests that you focus the grid itself. The problem with that is that the diopter adjustments can be very coarse ...

Thanks Jerseyfilm. I tried your technique and it seemed to work- my eye AND the split image agree on what is in correct focus now. Thanks again.

Split image focusing question

Hello- I have a Canon camera and I have adjusted the eyepiece per the instructions and feel confident that the diopter is focused accurately. However, when I focus the lens while looking OUTSIDE of the split image grid (prism?) and get the subject looking sharp, the split image will show that I am f...
