Re: Shutter problem with my Beaulieu
wow that sucks.. I always bring a back up camera on trips in case the main cam breaks down.. When you remove the lens you can see the shutter, I don't know if you would damage it if you tried to move it but at least if you remove the lens you can take a look at it and see if something's wrong.. offt...

Re: First time Beaulieu 4008 shoot..
I'll post my footage for sure! I can't wait to send it to the lab and have it developed.. I'm planning on having it 'flashscan8ed' so I'll post high quality H264 clips when I have it..

Re: First time Beaulieu 4008 shoot..
because you don't use the built in light meter anymore. You set your external light meter to 500 asa and the shutter speed you're shooting at. That's all the meter needs to know to tell you the correct aperture..

Re: First time Beaulieu 4008 shoot..
I just came back from a small roadtrip in california and shot 2 carts of vision2 200t.. I removed the filter key so that the 85 filter was in, and rated it at 125ASA.. I wanted to do the external 85 filter thing but I don't have an 'external' 85 filter.. I went to action camera in San Francisco but ...

Re: First time Beaulieu 4008 shoot..
So I still dont really get how the filter key on the 4008 works. The manual doesnt say anything about an automatic pin or anything.. So what about the filter key? If its in, the filter is out and if the key is out the filter is in place right?

First time Beaulieu 4008 shoot..
So I finally got my cartridges that I ordered from B&H, and I want to use them with my custom Beaulieu 4008 ZMII . I have 4 carts of Tri-X and 4 carts of Vision2 200T. So for the Tri-X, at which ASA should I rate it? It says on the packaging: EI200 for daylight (without filter) and EI160 for tun...

Re: Buying carts in NYC
Unfortunately I wasn't able to visit Kodak during my short visit to New York, but I ordered some vision2 200T and Tri-X from B&H.. The carts should ship soon.. Since I'm gonna use my Beaulieu 4008 for the first time, I was just wondering, at which ASA should I rate vision2 200T and Tri-X? Leave ...

Re: Making a battery for a Beaulieu 4008...
Alright, the battery is finished! I did the wiring and all that yesterday, and everything works perfectly.. I'm really satisfied with how it turned out, can't wait to buy some carts and test it! Anyways here goes with the final pics: http://www.g-trash.com/images/P6230001.JPG Six cells lined up to b...

Re: Pictures of a home made beaulieu 4008zm battery pack.
So 6x1.5v AAA's works? Wouldn't 9v be too much for the Beaulieu? I decided to go for exactly 7.2v cause I thought more volts would be too much...

Re: Making a battery for a Beaulieu 4008...
I took the batteries from the racing pack indeed.. I didn't even look around for cells, I was happy enough to find a battery pack of exactly 7.2v... Then I tried to use it with my camera and it worked perfectly, only I had to hold the battery pack in my hand while shooting or tape it to the camera. ...

Here are some pictures of the (almost finished) housing.. I apologize for the quality of the pictures, they were taken with a mobile phone.. http://www.g-trash.com/images/20062008085.jpg Here's the housing with te cap placed on top of it. It still needs the center hole for the connector plug and the...

Re: Making a battery for a Beaulieu 4008...
Yeah the nosram cells go up to 2200 mAh in total. Are BigWorm's cells 450 mAh in total or 450x6=2700 mAh? Cause otherwise he's got me beat! I started this project before BigWorm announced he was able to recell batteries. But anyways I'm just making a metal housing that fits quite large battery cells...

Re: Making a battery for a Beaulieu 4008...
I'm planning on making this: http://www.g-trash.com/images/cad01.JPG http://www.g-trash.com/images/cad02.JPG http://www.g-trash.com/images/cad03.JPG I'm gonna make it from a solid 80mm diameter shaft of aluminum. The cells will be the ones that I posted earlier. I will use the shell of an original b...
