Re: Cement for film striping

If anyone is interested, I am selling my Bolex Weberling 240 Duosound stereo sound striper. It is probably the most flawless available in the world presently, and certainly the Americas. I've got to have surgery, so I can't justify keeping it no matter how nice or rate. Comes with some glue, the too...

Re: Does anyone use Lomo tanks to maintain finished films?

Yes, I've used my lOMO for particularly nasty films that are either dirty or suffering from VS and need soaking.

Re: Ferrania is a go!

I'm thrilled that in 2014 and seemingly for good while to come, I can continue to live out childhood dreams of super8 film making. I still have a bunch of E160 in the freezer. It was/ is grainy as hell and by now will have a serious magenta shift. Am I going to enjoy shooting it anyway? Hell yes! I ...

Re: How many carts of 8mm do we all have in the freezer?

Super 8 Stash.jpg
4 E64T
6 E160 SOUND
1 K40 Sound (An orphan of sorts)
1 Svema

shot K40, A200D and ORWO UN54 recently.

Sadly I never scored any E100D as I was sidelined... Sad as I would've bought at least 2 cases...

Thinking about my next shoot...

Re: DS8 film stock

With Wittner the major problem for those of us on the western side of the pond is the $CAD and U$D to Euro conversion.. Murderous! Today $1 US = €0.74 $1 CAD= €0.68 An €40 cart of E100D = $54.40 + Shipping.... CAD $58.51 YIKES! :!: :?:  8O I'm all for bulk film purchases on t...

Re: Ferrania hope to start film manufacture in 2014

Well, the grain isn't too bad, but it seems to have a pretty solid magenta shift. Is the shaking due to bad registration in the camera or and issue with transfer?

Re: WWII air show footage with sound, scanned with Retro-8

Very cool. I'm envious as I don't have any 100D. Next big airshow, Wings over Houston, I was thinking of filming with an ancient cart of Svema

Re: DS8 film stock

I just acquired a C-300, but with only S8 Back. I will be hunting down all the others over time. I'm not a big fan of neg, but having seen a great deal of 50D used in finished films, It's the one I'd be most interested in having.

Re: Ferrania hope to start film manufacture in 2014

They should just get the recipe for 100D and start making reversal S8 ASAP because that's what people want and it will sell. Well yes,its good idea, but why would Kodak hand that over to them? If Kodak is going to hand something like that over then Kodak will want to know that they will make money ...

Re: light meter batteries for Elmo C-300 Trifilmatic

I scored a decent, it but dirty externally C-300 in an antique mall while on vacay in New Braunfels. The battery carrier was sadly full of rotted out batteries, but as I had the external controller for my super 110 I was able to verify that it worked. It came with the super 8 back. It will need some...
