I do something similar to this (stop motion anamation, one frame at a time with a still camera). I get the photos developed onto a CD and edit them all together in final cut pro.

I mount my Nikon SLR on a tripod and move infront of it (I often do the same motion many times in a row, taking pictures ...

I have had exellent results with Spectra Lab in CA for E-6 ektachrome (super 8 64T). They specialize in 16 and 35mm E-6 processing for commercial production and have a great reputation in this area.

Since they are in CA (near SF), shipping might be faster and ...

I'm talking about E64T though. I was thinking of sending it to that place in Seattle, then on for telecine.

A few questions:

1)How long will it take me to get two cartridges (100 feet total) of 64T back (assuming I'm getting it transfered to digital as well).

2)Is their any certain way I should ship the film? Any precautions I should take?

3) On what format will the film come back? Will it be on a CD ...

"Also, regarding quality, if the movie is short enough, I usually don't do any compression at all."

I'm not sure what this is supposed to mean. Unless you're just burning the DV file to a data disc (which won't be playable on any DVD player), you have to compress it as MPEG-2.

I don't use iDVD ...

The DVD authoring program (I used DVD Pro) should be able to put the two together for your final product.

Also, regarding quality, if the movie is short enough, I usually don't do any compression at all. Of course I've never done this on a movie longer than 4 minutes, so I'm not sure how big a 10 ...

A question about lenses.

At the moment, I'm primarily a 35mm still photographer (though I'm trying to make the jump full time to them "talkies")...

Anyway. I was wondering if there was some sort of lens conversion table somewhere online where I could look up equivalent lenses for a super 8 camera.

For example, to get the ...

You can get it developed at Cala ? That boggles my mind slightly.

How would I even do that?

Okay, for your own good you're going to have to figure this one out for yourself. Start by walking into Cala foods...

No, seriously, put the cart in the envelope, write "Super 8 movie film" on the ...

I saw a story on either ABC or PBS about how they found all of the old Keystone films featuring Chaplin and were in the process of restoring them.

It was really interesting. They collected multiple copies of most of the films from different collectors around the world. What was strange was that ...

how should I get my Ektachrome developed?

I was just wondering what would be the best and least expensive way to get my Ektachrome 64T reversal film devloped and put on to a CD for Final Cut Pro editing.

I live in San Francisco, in case there is is any place here that will develop Super 8.
