Re: Any way to do sync sound?

There is an expensive way...you can do a film output to 16mm with a company that can create optical soundtracks like videofilmsolutions.com. It's a time-consuming and difficult process but it is possible. You'll have a negative that you can make many prints from.

Re: New Kodak Super 8 Camera Preview

I talked to some of the younger generation today at Church about Super 8mm film. Basically in their 20's. There was an absolutely not all-around consensus. They want nothing to do with 8mm. And it wasn't like "Hey that's pretty cool retro". It was a firm "no". When people get th...

Re: Hello from FILM Ferrania!

Are there any issues with shipping film internationally? Specifically with x-rays...I'm thinking that DHL or FedEx would be safe that way...

Re: Hello from FILM Ferrania!

From the post it seems that the B&W film is a little easier to create, will it become an item for regular sale or just for the rewards?

You know we'd eat it up here if it was offered in 16mm or Super 8 or Regular 8...I'd love to have some 100' 35mm loads for my Eyemo...

Re: 8mm Print Film...not a typo

I'd actually be interested in Super 8 and Regular 8 blowups to 16mm...I tend to brake out the 16mm projector quite a bit more than the smaller projectors. I know the minimum order quantity on Kodak print film have gone up quite a bit in the last few years...I was thinking of buying an order and find...

Re: Color grading

Learn Resolve. It's free unless you want to output in 4k. I believe you can work with 4k footage, just not output it in 4k unless you buy the full product. Resolve has been the cornerstone of film colorists in the U.S. for many years. The editing has actually gotten pretty decent on it, but the colo...

Re: Ektachrome returns

It will be interesting to see if the film is sold with processing or without processing included. I am sure that Dwayne's, Spectra and Pro-8 would prefer without processing. Kodak is in a tough spot...if they want to sell Super 8 to anyone except us, they need to make it idiot proof and crazy easy ...

Re: New Kodak Super 8 Camera Preview

Please excuse my aggressive tone, everybody, but I hate Kodak for their patronising attitude, always have. Dumb consumer, give me money, I give you a short-living plastic toy. The Ciné-Kodak I mentioned was made of metal. What a decline of a company! The folks I've met from Kodak are nothing but...

Re: New Kodak Super 8 Camera Preview

Kodak announced, via facebook livestream, that the special edition will be coming out in early spring for $2k. way too much for me. apparently "shortly" afterwards a cheaper model will be released (no timeline, or price point, given however) Wasn't the Logmar camera like $5000? This one a...

Spectra is an excellent choice.

These guys have a Scanstation and do up to 5k flat scans although I recommend the 2k full aperture scans for Super 8...

Re: K3 16mm scan — Lines not scratches?

Some of those modifications were done with a file and are not always that smooth. The location makes me think it is the gate too. Run your finger along the gate edges and see if you feel anything. Shouldn't be too difficult to buff it out. The gate comes out easily with a screw driver.

Re: Regular 8mm Film Available

Will2, that's a fascinating camera you've got! What's the registration like? Not very good, but in regular 8, the worse the better! Regular 8 is the new Super 8. Super 8 these days looks like 16 from 20 years ago. I also like the single frame option so you can go around taking 8mm still pictures. O...

Spectra's great. I miss their Velvia 50 Super 8!
