New gadgets I have made
Here's one. I've had this problem several times: How to record sync sound effects while filming on film. I thought once that I could shoot on 16 mm film and record sound with a camcorder at the same time. Worked great and incredibly smoothly - in theory. However, trying to operate both cameras didn'...

Re: Sort of OT--French/English speaker help
Now that you have already started dropping phonemes what difference does it make to get rid of one or two more, why don't you just say God? And you get to say the D after all. All the french I know is: Kun pierazé, se lemuaa :) (someone who knows finnish might understand it...) Yes, it's pascaa.

Re: TV tuner cards for transferring Super 8?
It's true. And if you connect the tuner to the flash connector of a super-8 camera you will get the video directly into digital format. No time consuming film development needed. That's why it's called "flash".

Re: Question for the darkroom guys. Re: Remjet
Rem jet is a black coating on the back of the film base.
Antihalation undercoating is a silver or dyed gelatin layer between the emulsion and the base, and is in fact a part of the emulsion.

Re: removing battery handle, 1014 electronic
Under the cover where the handle is attached to the camera body there is a coin sized metal disc. There are two very small screws on the top side of the disc. Loosen those screws and unscrew the disc by rotating it counter clockwise.

Re: R.I.P Kodachrome. The announcement is here.
I have one of the cheapest Epson flatbed scanners. Requires adjustments in Photoshop to make them look like the originals. One reason I prefer transparencies: it only takes a 1/250 second to create a perfect photograph.

Re: R.I.P Kodachrome. The announcement is here.
A few Kodachrome stills I have shot over the years http://www.kinokone.fi/kodachrome.htm . Perhaps not the most artistic photos I have taken but they are Kodachromes! I just bought four more rolls of K64. They are the last ones. I will make a slide show of the 50 last Kodachrome photos. Do you have ...

Re: Scoopic sync?
It may not be so important for no-budget shooters but in a professional production syncing in post would probably cost more than for example, renting a sync sound camera. However, if you shoot music videos, having a camera with crystal sync is a huge advantage. Another advantage of a sync conversion...

Re: Scoopic sync?
I'm planning to offer crystal sync conversion for Canon Soopic. I just finished bulding a prototype and have tested it with a Scoopic 16 MS. It would be nice if it could be used to control super-8 cameras too but I'm not sure. Anyone have a schematic for Canon 814 AZ Electronic?

Re: Canon 814 Lives Again
You have to rewire the light meter. You'll see when you open the camera.

Re: Canon 814 Lives Again
Modifying a Nizo is not complicated. Modifying a Canon 814 is rather complicated for several reasons. One thing is that the chassis is common ground but the battery of the exposure meter is connected to the ground on its positive pole.
