Congrats for the completion, keep us updated! And post the damn thing! i'm trying to get it down to a nice size but it's useless. With an mpeg4 compression at 10% of the quality and max bitrate of 200kb/s it's still 220mb. You will have to wait until i bring Supersens a DVD and they put it on their...

is it still possible to participate in this? I might want to do something with amsterdam and it's small ferries that connect the rural north with the urban centre. I say 'might' because i think it's a lovely project but i'm not sure i will have the time and money. Maybe you have found somebody for A...

filmacademy here in amsterdam also has some sr2's, although you will need a good reason to use it - from what i've heard. Most of the student films are shot digitally.

and now you're saying i didn't. i have been all along. you completely misunderstood my reference to what this thread might be about. i'm not the stay on topic police or anything like that. read it again and you'll see that i'm saying *because* this thread is about this, this is how people (me) will...

On page 1 you said: you presented one definition and deliberately left out the more common one and now you're saying i didn't. Is this a Jedi mind trick? You got me all wrong. I'm not speaking about any true meaning. In my opinion, words don't have them. I know the common meaning of the word amateur...

my only point was that i liked the definition of 'lover' better as opposed to 'dabbler'. That's how language evolves, mediated through the people who use it. point taken. this thread was about the definition though. you presented one definition and deliberately left out the more common one. go figu...

people didn't usually work for fun back in the days you know. /matt are you quoting from a history book? that sounds really scholarly. Anyway, my only point was that i liked the definition of 'lover' better as opposed to 'dabbler'. That's how language evolves, mediated through the people who use it...

'Amateur' comes from the Latin word for lover. A person who loves what he or she does, is an amateur. Whether you get paid to do it or not doesn't make any difference. The derogatory way some people use it only has to do with their own shame at looking at something simple and honest.

Yesterday i've finished my short film called "Hans" and turned it in together with a portfolio containing some 4x5" and some 35mm b/w photos. I will get a notice from the filmacademy in a couple of weeks, so i'm keeping my fingers crossed. I will try to get a small version of it onlin...

64t and then some post effect to desaturate color, maybe? The Crow looks really contrasty, i would think that 64t, being a reversal film, has a narrower latitude than say 7217 negative. It's also cheaper.
