New full res CITIZENS trailer: 720x450

Hi All Just to let you know that a full-res trailer of the CITIZENS project is up on the website. This is far from a final trailer for the project, but I thought you might be curious nevertheless. You need Quicktime 7 and some hefty bandwidth because its 20MB, but ultimately we will be using Flash a...

Re: Shikashika wins jury prize for "Best Film", Cambridge, UK

Excellent news and I am more than sure it is a fully deserving winner.... although wasn't half of it shot on 16mm?!!

The Cambridge festival is fast establishing itself as the place for highbrow super-8 work with Dan's film winning last year and now your film taking the cap this time round.

THE CITIZENS super-8 project - First trailer Online

Hey all Wow, great to have this board online again, despite the quirks of the new site, which seems to object to me using Safari. In any case, I posted this on the 'other forum' but thought I should let you guys know, that the first trailer for THE CITIZENS project is online! This is the sequel to t...

I´m still using my 35mm stills SLR and even with stock, developing and scan I think I am concurring less costs than buying a similar D-SLR with a close to 35mm size sensor. There are also great lenses available very cheap as people have been switchign to digital. The lens I use is a Tokin 28-70mm...

Notching for Pro8-01 (7201) 50D?

Hi everyone

Do you know how Pro-8 are notching their V2-50D stock?

I am hoping to use it with the Canon 514 XL-S which only reads 25D and 100D. I would be happy for it to default to 25D if that was the case.

I'm new to this notching issue because I previously used a Beaulieu.

Cheers
Nathan

My initial thoughts are that this looks like the ultimate super-8 stock.

Perfect amount of grain to add character but not be annoying, lots of detail and a (only slightly) retro reversal look.

Super-8 Cities Premiere @ Encounters UK and One World Berlin

Hi All This is an exciting week for the Super-8 Cities project a we have two premieres of the collection in two European festivals. The first in Germany on the 20th of November at the ONE WORLD BERLIN FESTIVAL slotted in amongst feature docs which we would all recognise: such as Adam Curtis's films,...

Excellent choice of music and sound design to go with the imagery. I really like it, my only reservation is the fireworks at the end which don't seem to fit or add anything.

Can someone help me with sound

Hi Im just putting the finsihing touches on my edit of Bela Tarr in Conversation and am hoping someone here can lend me a hand with sound - something I am useless at. In the auditorium there were ambient regular noises that are really dsitracting when you hear the film on a good sound system. I thin...

The Citizens: production still from super-8mm shoot

Hi All The Citizen Super-8 project is progressing and the shoots are now either in progress or wrapping. I thought you might be interested to check out this production still from Douglas Hunter's shoot. He works in Paramount so got together a pretty impressive crew and kit for his shoot! http://www....
