Re: "Pass The Cart" project, Official Thread

LC, thank you for staying on top of this. Im sure BigBeaner will come through in the end and we'll have a completed project that we can all take pride in. That's the problem, I'm not sure if I sent anything of pride worthy as my original idea I just couldn't get under 30 seconds and just kept laggi...

Re: Name a commerically sucessful indie film

Technically, Francis Ford Coppola's and George Lucas' are usually independent movies - specifically the later Star Wars movies that were funded primarily from Lucasfilm itself and distributed through Fox. Memento, a lot of Kurosawa's films were independent, Blair Witch Project and the affore mention...

Re: Blasphemy! Question about cheap HD Cameras

Get an Canon HV20/HV30, it's pretty shocking in terms of price and options. It's good for when you can't possibly shoot film or want to shoot a lot, whatever. www.hv20.com or www.vimeo.com and search to look at the footage.

Re: "Pass The Cart" project, Official Thread

First, a huge apology is due to everyone participating in the Pass the Cart project for holding it up. I've been so busy and creatively stretched, I never found the one thing that I really wanted to use my 30 seconds but yesterday I decided to shoot a little canoe trip we made from Lowell Massachuse...

Re: One of my shorts

Thanks again, really, I worked hard on it and I am so glad others can appreciate it. Which stock did you use? For black and white I prefer Plus-X Reversal. At the time I was still learning and lots of my exposure mistakes would easily be taken cared of in telecine or in the workprint when using nega...

Re: One of my shorts

Thanks! Ya I really like the way this came out. The carousel scene is actually my desktop wall paper I like it so much. I agree with the whole alien looking human. Some reason at the time, I wanted to be ambiguous whether this was actually an alien or a human with amnesia thinking he's in a strange ...

Re: Screenplay format

Posting it here will show us if its easier to read. Thats really the most important part if other people can understand what you are trying to put on paper, if it is then your format works. To me it sounds like a mess. Script readers want a format that evolved on a typewriter, not a word processor. ...

One of my shorts

I finally got working on Sorenson Squeeze and made an acceptable version of this 16mm short I shot in October 2006. So yes, its almost 2 years old but here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOiVWfw5zjU Shot on the K3 with various 35mm lenses. I'm still proud of it. Should have a trailer of my Su...

Re: Screenplay format

I actually just worked for a few months as a reader for a production company located in LA and I'll tell you, I saw some crazy formatting. If the story was good I would still consider it, but if its crap then I would pass. You should learn how to use the standardized format because you will be consi...

No-one has ever made a successful feature film entirely on their own.
