Dead D12

I just recently got a a Minolta D12 with all the accessories. The camera had a problem with the auto-exposure - it would peg itself everytime I would turn on the camera. Oh well, that's what they make hand held exposure meters for! Then I couldn't make it run. After fiddling with it for about...

Post subject: Happy Holidays Everyone!

Well, it's about 14 degrees here on the farm in Michigan - some light snow. Daughter is coming in from Washington D.C. for the Holidays tomorrow (Thurs). She decided to bypass Chicago - too many delays (even on a CLEAR day) and is going thru Detroit. Local weatherman says we might get up to 6 - 8&qu...

marctronixx,

That's exactly what I do. I have used the usps padded mailers both times and it has worked out fine. I put two K-40 carts in the mailers at a time.

HOLY CRAP! That film path is more convoluted than George Bush's Medicare improvement plan!

I dig that camera, Herb!

Thanks for the info gentlemen! filmbuff, I had found Martin's site and read that same piece. I guess I was having a senior moment because I thought he was talking about the XL-420. I look at these older cameras and think "When this was new - how great this must have been"! Even in th...

New Camera!

I just got a new camera - it's a Sankyo XL-620 Supertronic and it looks like it was hardly used! F=7.5~45mm 1:1.2 Macro lens with all the bells and whistles. Threw some batteries in it and all functions appear to be working properly, man I can't wait to run some film through it! 8O I've done some se...

Re: K-40 (USA)

Hi, I've got essentially the same question except I'm in the US. Where to get Kodachrome and processing? I bought five cartridges plus mailers from B&H Photo and by the time I paid shipping it worked out to nearly $20.00 a cartridge. Are there better deals out there? I don't know how close to $...

I have read this thread with some interest. I have been out of the photo hobby for many years and am just now starting to get re-aquainted with it. Your experences are interesting(?) because there are a lot of situations that we put ourselves into to get a shot. We do not think we might look very su...
