Re: For those with a broken battery door on the Bauer s715xl

I'm not sure what they're referring to, but I had the battery door break when I was shooting wildlife footage in Alaska. My solution was to press the door down as tight as possible and wrap some camera tape around the edge of the door and across the handle, and that worked. The batteries last long e...

Re: Fomapan DS8mm 100ft rolls USA

Cinelab can process this? That's good to know. I just spent a small fortune getting some Fomapan processed/scanned at Spectra and they claimed to be the only lab in the US that can still do it.

Fujica ZC1000 vs Fujica ZC1000 New

Hello, I've been lucky enough to end up with both versions of the camera, so I just wanted to post some facts on how to tell the difference between the two for others to read, because I've had a hard time sourcing this information myself. Some of these are already on the internet, some not: 1) The Z...

Re: Canon 514 XL-S Question

It's possible you can get your motor serviced if it's something repairable, but it's not worth it for that camera. Just buy another camera, they're cheap enough. Or buy a better camera and get it serviced.

Yea, you're right. Forgot I could put it on single frame and run it in reverse.

Hand crank for Fujica ZC 1000

Looking to buy the rewinder accessory for a Fujica ZC 1000. I imagine one from the a lower model like a Z400 or ZX500 might work.

Re: Wolverine 8mm and Super 8 Movie Reels to Digital MovieMa

Just discovered this little machine on youtube today. Was curious to know if anyone has had experience with it yet as it seems to be on back order until the fall...The example footage does kind of suck, I don't get why they didn't take the 5 minutes to convert it back to 24 or 18 fps(which makes me ...

Reloading single-8 carts with super-8

Can this be done? Will the different thickness cause issues or no?

Nizo 6080 Replacement Belt

I was told by the guys at Du-All that I needed to replace the belt in my Nizo 6080 in order to get the motor running (electronics are working fine) so I took it apart until I could remove the belt. The belt is fine, but there's a little slack in the system when I turned the motor with my hand. Could...

Re: Video Tap / Video Assist for use with 16mm/SUper 8 Camer

While the Zigview seems like a good idea, all the reviews I have found say that the image quality sucks, even when connected to a separate monitor, and for the price he's asking I do not think it's worth it. The KT&C cameras seem like a good option, but too large for my rig, hard to find an HD o...

Video Tap / Video Assist for use with 16mm/SUper 8 Cameras

I've been trying to figure out a way to get a video tap on my film cameras, ex. my K-3. I am looking for a solution which will give me an image through the viewfinder that I can then hook up to a small monitor for framing/focusing so I don't have to walk around with my eye in the eye-cup all the tim...
