Dear all,
These 4 days the Beaulieu Cine-Film Club International festival is taking place in Saarburg, Germany. I am not the official spokesman for Mr. Klose, but an active small gauge filmmaker wanting to share todays interesting news with this forum.
Today Mr. Gottfried Klose addressed the audience of ca. 130 active filmers with his latest news and developments.
I will not quote his excuses which he made to the whole small film gauge community for a lot of problems his company had to overcome in the past. But I do want to refer to the fact that he did make these excuses. I will leave any further communication and phrasing up to him/his company.
The good news he shared with us today is that he has re-tooled the production process with brand new machines. Important for exact perforations conforming to the Kodak/DIN-ISO standards and smooth cassette operation. He has received a further batch of Fuji Velvia 50D for manufacturing/loading his new S8-cassettes, before Fuji starts delivering the new formula Velvia 50D.
Timing: Mr. Klose plans to start regular shipments Summer 2007.
Quality: having new tools he is convinced of delivering flawless cassettes.
Prices: Mr. Klose plans to lower the prices a bit to around Euro 27 including processing. Any other pricing (exl. processing, non-european regions) have not been mentioned.

I am curious for the next developments. For sure, having seen quite some new filmstock these days on a 4 meter wide screen (100D, 64T, 50D) the latter is the best, Velvia 50D/CineVia may turn out to become the real K40 successor. Anyway, I hope that Mr. Klose will live up to his commitments made today.
