16mm Experimental Short

Post by Tscan » Sun Sep 19, 2010 4:57 am

I did this project while I was off the forum, so not many here have seen it. Pretty much a one take experiment, the hard part was finding out where to begin and where to end. With various conditions, I think I used one roll of each Kodak color neg in regular 16mm with my Bolex Rex4. enjoy-

This film is EXTREMELY inspiring to me. It is very, very amazing! Congratulations to you. I absolutely love it.
Pull that old movie camera out of the closet! I'm sure it's hungry for some film!

Wow. I really liked your animation technique which synchronized well with your choice of music. That "older" 16mm Bolex Rex-4 registration is sharper than my slightly younger Super 8 cameras!

Congratulations, again.

Nice work! Very well done. Bows taken by the Pentax and Bolex at the conclusion add a nice touch.

Thanks everyone! It played in the Shorts Corner at Cannes in May, and will be shown in and around the train system in Madrid next month. I think I spent a total of 8 months shooting it. The whole time I was unsure if I could pull it off, but I got pretty close to the look and concept I was going for. All the sequences had to be filmed and photographed out of order and somehow fit seamlessly in the end.

Brilliant work! I think you'll have a lot of success in getting this film into festivals.

Now that is really art. Great concept and execution. Reminds me of senior recitals at music school and how we never thought we'd be that good.

Congrats.
