That is really cool. I've been thinking about the actual sound of super 8 cameras for a long time. Thinking about how it is one of those sounds which will become "unrecognized" at a certain point in the future. We still get the iconic sound of the movie projector used every so often to indicate some reference to "old-time" movies or movie theaters. But with the video age, the once-ubiquitous sound of the home-movie camera has all but disappeared from popular consciousness.

I used to work with a 'sound sculptor' on and off a few years ago (I'm a sound engineer by trade really), and even the most po-faced amongst us can't deny that it is a good bit of fun.

Super 8 Musique concrète?
