8mm on TV - a report

Post by wahiba » Thu May 30, 2002 8:32 am

The programme was actually better than expected. It was virtually all 8mm home movie material. I reckon the BBC pulled the stops out on transferring that lot. Include DIY sound.

At the end there was a request for anyone who had home movies of significant events to contact the BBC, so i reckon we are in for a series of home movie shows.

If I can find it I will offer my film of the re-enactment of the Battle of Hastings, at Hastings, in 1966 where I found out that the then current Miss World looked knackered and had a pimple or two!

I saw that programme as well.
It just goes to show how good 8mm film can look with a pro transfer.
It was a great programme, it was great to see and hear how the public caught their special moment on film.
