Re: Hello from FILM Ferrania!

Here, I'd like to know how much WANTS to make perforations. There are machines, has the same Ferrania or by Wittner or Color City, but... they want to do? The fact that the P30 is presented only as a photographic material worries me. They are going to release it first as a still film with MP to fol...

Re: New filmscanner from Germany

Without the work station, it costs around 55,000 Euros which is pretty darn good if your a post house, but not priced for an individual. It's kind of a tease because it looks like something an individual film maker or small production company would have, small and stylish. I know it sounds crazy now...

Re: New filmscanner from Germany

Cool! Looks like a mini Kinetta ($200K). Looks like the real deal based on the specs, but at what cost. If it's not priced for individuals yet, it's really nothing new.

Re: New Wittner Webshop (english!)

Good news. Also, i've been in desperate need for a film cleaning set-up since forever. I found these products on the English site. Has anyone used the cleaning system or rollers? Are the rollers sticky? http://www.wittnercinetec.com/epages/WittnerCinetec-Super8-16mm-Film.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/...

Re: Ektachrome returns

This is great news! There's no mention of what speed, or how many versions they will make. Just that they are "reformulating" the Ektachrome emulsion. Which could mean a 50ASA daylight film and a 160T film? And since E100D is 1999 technology, hopefully the new ektachrome stocks will be sharper :)

Re: AGFA2 16mm Print & Optical Sound Transfer

The scan could probably be less jumpy, i'm going to try doing a few things differently next time. But like I was saying, the unit is best for neg or reversal which is a lot less tricky to dial in. The "People on the Move" (1972) film was pretty red, I did some color correction in Vegas14. The "Chang...

Re: AGFA2 16mm Print & Optical Sound Transfer

Thanks- I have a few old educational reels from thrift stores and Ebay. They are either from public libraries or schools from the days before VCR's. I studied urban planning in high school, and have paid close attention to changing urban dynamics for the last 30 yrs, so this film is right up my ally...

AGFA2 16mm Print & Optical Sound Transfer

I went ahead and downloaded the new free optical sound app that goes with the Retro-Universal. Here's a scan done on a pretyy decent AGFA2 color print. AGFA2 didn't turn red like a lot of others. I think the sound came out pretty well, and holds sync all the way through. Opens up a whole new can of ...

Kodak posted a reply to the pic on their thread saying "just a demo package, sorry for the confusion". Which keeps the odds in my head at 50/50

Re: Kodak rumors - new film stocks and hardware

The extra height of the box looks perfect to add a USB stick or memory card for the audio...I've been wondering how they were going to handle the audio syncing during transfer... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Or maybe it's a prepaid processing envelope? I can't remember if the prepaid Kodachro...

Re: Kodak rumors - new film stocks and hardware

It was posted on Facebook today under a Kodak MP post. The pic stems from a company that designs logos for packaging. Maybe it's an accidental breach on their behalf, un-briefed on Kodak's secrecy around new products. I wouldn't be all surprised if it's legit, every Kodak thread on film for the last...

Re: Kodak rumors - new film stocks and hardware

Here's a teaser image that was leaked or displayed by a design company, It says Vision3 50 Reversal film. If it is true, we wouldn't know about it.
