Re: Super 8 HD Transfer UK

Thanks Jorg, The only one I've been able to find based in the UK are The Widescreen Centre, does anyone have any experience of thier HD Super 8 transfer service. I've had a couple of S8 rolls done to SD there in the past and never been very impressed (once transferring a colour roll as B&W). Soho Fi...

Super 8 HD Transfer UK

Can anyone recommend somewhere to get some Super 8 transferred to HD in the UK? Preferably London but can't seem to find anywhere here other than The Widescreen Centre who I've had problems with before.

Thanks.

16mm Service/Repair in London

Hi, Wondering if anyone knows of somewhere reliable and good value I can get a 16mm Canon Scoopic serviced in London (ideally in South London but fine to travel). It's not even a full service, I just want the camera checked and cleaned to return to someone. Would be great to know somewhere that I ca...

Re: Variable Speed 16mm Projector

Thanks for the recommendation Robbie, did not know about Drift but have just ordered a copy on DVD. Rather strange coincidence too - I was shooting some 16mm at a Festival in Dec. and Sonic Youth were kind enough to let me make a film of them, had a chat with Lee Ranaldo afterwards about various thi...

Re: Variable Speed 16mm Projector

Thanks everyone for responses, really helpful. In regards what I want to do with the projector...I've been working a fair bit with unsplit Standard 8 and loopers running on 2 16mm projectors. I've made films that work through superimposition of the 2 projectors, I like that they drift in and out of ...

Variable Speed 16mm Projector

Does anyone know of a 16mm projector that has variable speed control and not simply 18/24fps switches - a projector that essentially gives you all the inbetween frame rates from say 8fps upwards controlled with a dial. I've seen 8mm projectors that have this kind of function but never 16. If not, wo...

Bolex H8 RX Lens Cap

Hi, I have a Bolex H8 RX with the 3 lens C-mount (I think) turret (Switar 5.5/12.5/36mm). I recently lost a front lens cap (the metal one with II Kern paillard embossed) and was wondering if anyone knew where I might be able to find a replacement? It's really bugging me that it's missing! Thanks. Do...

Re: Processing Kodak 16mm 7363 B&W to Neg.

Hi Christoph, We had some really excellent results using 1-3 dilution with Xtol, we ran 5 test strips at 3 minute intervals and found that our best processing time was 9 minutes. I made the mistake of reusing the chemistry so ruined a test roll. Going to run some further tests next week on a 20ft ro...
