Re: Regular 8mm Black & White Print

I have found KAHL difficult to work with. I ordered $2500 worth film three months ago and still don't have it. He is good at coming up with excuses why the film has not been shipped. He actually gave a phoney tracking number one time. Also you better know German. He does not like small orders and do...

Re: Who's Left Shooting 16mm?

The Kodak announcement regarding the new Ektachrome makes no mention of 16mm. Only Super 8 and 35mm are listed as being released in Ektachrome in all the literature I have seen. I have a Beaulieu 16mm camera i will never use. It uses a rechargeable battery in the camera grip. I recharged the battery...

Eumig Viennette 5

Has anyone had experience with the Eumig Viennette 5 or equivalent. My question is does this camera automatically push the daylight(orange) filter out of the lens path when using a daylight balanced film in a cartridge designed to push the filter out. The filter is normally pushed out when using a l...

Re: Old Ektachrome 160 A film, 2 with sound >>

Ironic that the lesser stock,i.e.Ektachrome can still be processed with passable results but king Kodachrome is basically worthless. Too bad they didn't make black and white sound film. It could survive the nuclear holocaust Anyway I think that is ironic. --JS.

For a more sophisticated approach, see the post "any way to do sync sound' on this forum.

Re: I Made My Own "New" Super 8 Camera >>>

P.S. If your recorder does not have an separate input and the recorder is strapped to the camera, the recorder will pick up the camera motor sound starting and stopping and you can use that sound to sync your picture to the sound.

Re: I Made My Own "New" Super 8 Camera >>>

I congratulate your enthusiasm with the process but this has been tried by many before you had your epiphany and syncing up is not easy. I doubt Spectra will be be enthusiastic about syncing up the voice and will present you with an eye watering high bill to do the sync. Also I doubt the Ektachrome ...

Re: Hello from FILM Ferrania!

If Film Ferrania could be persuaded to sell their BW in bulk spools 400ft/122M or larger, there are a number of ways to have the film slit and perforated by second parties to various 16mm products. Unfortunately it would add to the cost but it would give Film Ferrania exposure to the small gauge mar...

Re: Ektachrome returns

It will be interesting to see if the film is sold with processing or without processing included. I am sure that Dwayne's, Spectra and Pro-8 would prefer without processing.

Re: Ektachrome returns

Silverhalide is correct. There is no chance the "new" Kodak will produce Ektachrome in reg 8 or DS8. It will be interesting to see if they produce it as 16mm or 35mm. If 35mm, Edward Nowill in UK can slit and perf as reg 8 but you will be paying big bucks. And if they produce as 16mm for $20,000 the...

kahl film in UK

I recently inquired to Kahl Film with regard to their color reversal films. Mr Kahl responded that since three years they have given the rights to Kahl film to a firm in London(UK) for Europe and North America. Does anyone have any idea what firm this might be? Who in UK is selling Kahl Film exclusi...

Re: Hello from FILM Ferrania!

Color reversal better than we have now? There is no color reversal being produced at this time for small gauge. 35mm maybe but no 16mm or 8mm. So, that being said-- anything is better than nothing. Realizing that 16mm is easier to produce than S8 in a cartridge, I hope Ferrania will send out the sam...

Re: Hello from FILM Ferrania!

Actually I recently sent Nowill 35mm film which he slit to 16mm unperforated and then perforated to Double 8mm(Reg 8) . He can indeed perforate unperforated film to D8.---
