Dismantling a Canon 310XL

Hi.
Does anybody have a servicing manual or know how to take apart a Canon 310XL.
Mine just stopped working.
It only makes a bit of noise for a few seconds when inserting batteries then nothing.
Tx

Re: What's the best color night film?

Using a XL-camera you might be able to shoot with a 100ASA-film, like the Ektachrome 100D (colour reversal, available as WittnerCHROME 100D for Super8 and DS8)
Bear in mind that 100D is asa in daylight but only 25asa in tungsten AFAIK

Re: The power of Avisynth post processing

Great Job. How did you manage to sharpen the footage to such an extent. Is it just the auto levels feature? Would the same work on Final Cut or Premiere?

Sound projector output

Hi. Does anybody have a copy of the page that was on the former version of the website regarding sound outputs on projectors? I am looking for the diagrams + info on how to convert the speaker output of a sound projector into a regular line signal. I remember there were some impedance issues as the ...

Re: Photoshop help request

hi. If you want to fill in areas with the brush or the bucket tools, you'd be better off to use masks in order to do non destructive editing. Make a selection with anything you'd like, lasso tool, magic wand/quick selection tool (etc), then hit the mask button in the layer pallete, next to fx button...

Telecine: How to create round edges during editing?

Hi.
I was wondering what the best way would be if I wanted to make telecined footage have round edges, as if the film had been projected.
Is there any plugin that can do that?
Thanks

Re: 24 fps or 18 fps..does it show?

thanks for info Kent. Where you talking about capture transfer here, or frame by frame telecine. Is this what you meant: If you shoot at 18fps and transfer it frame by frame, then tell the program that puts all frames together that the speed is 18fps, it will keep that original 18fps speed (so clip ...

Re: 24 fps or 18 fps..does it show?

So how does it work when you shoot at 18fps and decide to telecine the footage, then working in PAL (so 25fps) in Adobe Premiere. Do you have to transfer it at 25fps, or 18 and then increase speed?
Or will that look terrible?

Faulty 64T carts: What do you do?

Hi. Over the last few months, I've had a few faulty 64T cartridges that are jammed. Some bought with 7daysshop, some from Wittner. What has your experience been, and how do you deal with it? Do you notify the reseller to get replacements? (does that entail sending the faulty carts back?) Or do you c...

Re: Super8 + Standard8 viewers

And how do you adapt Normal8 reels onto Super8 size? From what I can gather, this Elmo dual viewer takes S8 reels as a standard, correct me if I'm wrong. I know of adapter to adapt S8 onto smaller N8 arms but haven't seen adapters in the other direction. Wittner don't seem to have anything like that...

Do you know of any viewers (not projectors) that can show Normal8 but also Super8 films?
