No. Just get over it. It's not like you have to use an external lightmetre or anything.
No offence meant

Ok thanks. So the filter switch on the side of the camera does not tell the Bauer lightmetre to switch to 100ASA (as filter pins in other cameras' chambers supposedly do)? Can you confirm this for sure? Thanks I would have thought that by choosing that design, Bauer actually gave you the choice to s...

PlusX in Bauer A512 & Royal series

What about Plus-X then? It does exactly the same thing as the Tri-X cartridge in the Bauer A512. ie. it doesn't push the 40-160asa pin in the chamber and there is no filter notch on the cartridge. On top of that, the Bauer's chamber does not have a filter pin anyways, so only the filter switch on th...

This is the best film I've seen all year. Make up your own mind It seems to me you re out of your mind. I thought the look was desperate, not to speak of the script and the dancing sequences. Did you see that salsa dancing sequence in Cuba? It looks like they got Ricky Martin or Mariah Carey's chor...

Patrick wrote this in one of the TriX threads: However, as the 1014E reads 200asa notched cartridges correctly, and the fact that the majority of filming will take place in daylight, I'm guessing that the exposures should be fine. Is that right. It could be handy as I also have a canon 1014 Electron...

Makes sense now. Thanks a lot Another trick question: Some of the material will be shot in a church in broad daylight. Should I still compensate the aperture or can I consider it is tungsten light. I suppose it depends on the church, brightness of the sun etc. Let's assume the church is bright enoug...

Now you got me very confused  What's a B&W -1/3? Is it some kind of filter? Are you saying that: reducing the amount of light coming only slightly [-1/3 f. stop] compared to a strong ND (neutral density) 4x filter [- 2 f. stop] will come out less washed out? I would have thought it would be th...

TRI-X in daylight: Still slightly confused

Sorry. I know there's a few topics on this subject but I can't seem to get it right. I have a project for which I need to shoot a few rolls of TriX tomorrow (mostly during the day) What is the way to go exactly? I'm getting confused with all those f.stop and asa conversations. I have a neutral densi...

just make sure that the automatic exposure works. there is a pill battery on the side of the camera (originally PX 625 with mercury). you can't find these batteries anymore but it's easy to find alternative ones with the same voltage. hopefully, the seller will be able to test the lightmetre if the ...

Beaulieu ASA set up for night scenes

hi i am just about to shoot my first film with my beaulieu 4008 zm4 in K40. i would like to shoot a night scenes in a busy street, among other things. Is it possible to "cheat" with the ASA setting of my beaulieu like with a still camera (when you take pics with a 200asa film by night and set your c...

does the canon 1014 and 1014 xls have an ASA setting like the beaulieu? if not, then that's a huge advantage for the beaulieu isn't it?
