Re: Universal now offering 2K and Audio modules!

Are we to assume that the software for the 2K is all in the way of updated software for now? The new 2K upgrade for the software will be out within the week. The software is actually finished but I am in the process of completely rewriting the instructions because so many changes and additions and ...

Re: Universal now offering 2K and Audio modules!

Eesh, been anticipating the 2K upgrade, but the need for added components puts the total cost at $1400. Cuts too far into my budget for new camera and film. The new 2K camera has a larger sensor. This means a longer extension tube which, in turn, increases the bellows factor which, in turn, means y...

Okay, it's all up on the website. We have the new 2K camera modules, the new UltraLite modules and the new RetroSync Studio Sound Module.

Re: Audio module for Universal, Retro, Sniper and WorkPrinter units!

Oh, do you have a price you can mention yet? The initial price will be $650, which will go up to $750 after a beta period and software should be about $80. It's interesting in that I've received mixed reactions from perspective customers I've talked to. Those who have never had to manually sync sev...

Audio module for Universal, Retro, Sniper and WorkPrinter units!

This is a sneak preview of a new product we will be releasing within the next week or so. We've been working on this for a while and it's pretty cool. It's called RetroSync and it allows you to use any existing projector to rip audio and the RetroSync unit will automatically create a frame accurate ...

Re: Another Film Cleaning Solution?

It's not really a film cleaner in the "scrub-your-film" sense. It's just an anti static brush to help remove dust particles.

Re: Interested in a new RetroScan Universal?

The current software and the new software both run on any version of WIndows 7, 8 or 10 with no problem. The only problem we have seen with Windows 10 has nothing to do with our software but, rather, a situation that occurs when someone updates their PC from Win 7 or 8 to 10. Anyone upgrading to Win...

Re: Interested in a new RetroScan Universal?

On a related topic, we hope to have a 2K upgrade kit available by the summer. It is a separate kit that the user installs easily without having to send the whole unit back and will work with the Universal software, which is currently undergoing a complete revision. Will that be a full 2k 2048x1440i...

Re: Interested in a new RetroScan Universal?

What is the "break out box"? I don't see anything about it on the website. Roger could probably explain it better. But basically it's a way to access certain electrical wiring. So if you wanted to use a DSLR camera or even a Super 8 camera with the RetroScan Universal you could do so without having...

The Universals have a 1 year warranty, not 90 day.

The GoPro has a rolling shutter, I believe. Not sure how well that might work with a real time transfer.

Re: New Customer Universal demo!

We should have a new software update within the next week. Changes in the user interface on the export page making it more intuitive. The addition of AVI output files both compressed and lossless. An active full screen program window that you can drag and expand on a second monitor. This is like the...
