Re: Could use a little more help processing films

You wash it for ages, hang it out ot dry and then you find all sorts on it. I suspect there is an ele...

Re: "Dailymotion" player ROCKS!

Reading this post I went back and checked my one and only upload to Dailymotion: link below (tent raising and lowering, speeded up) http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x12uiz7_pitching-a-queshua-tent_travel It is just a video off a digital tape camcorder so is not HD. Compared with YouTube It certainly...

Only egotistic bit is uploading them to YouTube Amateur movies home transferred by hi-8 camcorder. No artisitic or any other claims ...

Re: Digital refuseniks

I have always been a great believer in old tech + new tech. I too use analogue cameras, I have quite a collection. Anyhow what got me going again is the ease of scanning the negatives. I was definitely not a fan of enlarging, especially spotting which is a doddle on even a basic photo programme. I e...

Splitting & perforating bulk film

Other than the well know companies I do not know if anyone else has fancied having a go. Anyhow here are some offerings from Ilford for 50'/100' rolls of varying width.

Re: Kodak Super XX Film Info Needed

Isn't this stuff the same as Tri-X but rated at 200asa. It is while since I used it but i just developed it to a negative and reversed after videoing it!

I just used a basic developer, probably Paterson or Ilford. Anyhow it worked. Bit grainy though.

Re: new digital camera better than 35mm film?!

Remember: Nothing is forever. :ymsigh: Anyone carrying a flag for analogue video? ;) Anyone carrying a flag for tape? ;;) I actually have a nice Canon digital tape camcorder. While 576 is not quite as good as 720 on our domestic TV there is very little difference. I am thinking of using this Canon a...

Re: new digital camera better than 35mm film?!

This is really the old audio analogue/digital debate taken to a new level with images. However, let us be brutally honest. Most people, me included, cannot tell the difference between a digital and an analogue audio, except the latter might have clicks and scratched. Same for analogue and digital im...

Re: new digital camera better than 35mm film?!

First time I have read an explanation of the difference between digital and film light gathering. I have not appreciated before the obvious fact that the digital sensors are always in the same position while the chemical sensors are randomly distributed. To emulate film then the sensors on a digital...
