Re: Velvia 50 Super 8 Notch Size Question

Hi Morton, you are quite correct in everything you have said about velvia 50d. It is being notched as 25d. it would be theoretically better for it to be notched as 40d. You are quite correct that an alternative notching would be to notch it as 40T and insist that people manually remove the internal ...

Re: 8mm in C41 chemistry?

The advantage is indeed the lack of backing. This makes it much less of a fiddle to process by hand than ecnII stocks.
I have been discussing this with Daniel Wittner over the last year or two. it may happen one day.

Re: Kodak 7363 exposure?

But this is not normal panchromatic film. Its high contrast. I think push processing it will produce massive contrast. Only the highlights will have recorded. Pushing will bring thse highlights up, but nothing else.

Re: Kodak 7363 exposure?

Hi Ric,
Sadly, I don't think so. Indeed, you might try re-shooting on it. You can expect a little bit of the original images you filmed, but only where there were highlights.

Re: Colour Negative Orange Cast

Hi Carl, I'll put in a few cents worth here: First, regarding the colour sensitivity of Silver halide, Silver halide crystals in their basic state are ONLY sensitive to light with at least the frequency of blue light. It is hard to make Silver halide sensitive to other frequencies as well. The reaso...

Re: ADOX PAN-X 100 Reverso... Any experiences?

I hope aviphot works in super 8! Anyone know whether Wittner has a Ds8 perforator? What about an R8 perforator? The aviphot Daniel has is unslit 35. Agfa are also making aviphot available to him in perforated 16mm. I wonder if they would sell him unperforated 16mm as well? Or, I wonder if he has a s...

Re: Kodak Negative Film

Hi All,
in my experience, while borax on its own does work, the kodak ecn prebath formula works more efficiently.

Borax 20g
Sodium Sulfate 100g
Sodium Hydroxide 1g

per litre of solution

Re: More USA help needed by nanolab!

Well its starting to get a bit late here in Aus. If someone up there in the states is generous enough to bid and win these filters, please know that I am extremely keen to get my hands on them. The seller doesn't allow questions. nor do they sell outside the USA. I can't even bid on them - my bids a...

Re: More USA help needed by nanolab!

Hi Andreas,
thanks for the link. I shall use that in the future. It makes sense that someone would offer that.

Sadly in this instance the auction ends in 9 hours and that site requires 48 hours notice.

Anyone in the states able to help me out here?

More USA help needed by nanolab!

Hi all, I have another problem I wonder if someone in the usa can help me with. There are some Kodak #8 filters on ebay. These are no longer made. The seller, however, won't post outside the usa. They also don't accept questions or allow themselves to be contacted. The auction is for 6 filters. I'd ...

anyone live or work near Fotokem?

Hi, I am wondering if someone on this board lives or works near Fotokem and could do me a favour. Walt Rose needs to send me a 100' roll of intermediate film. The thing is, they only use Fedex, which will be expensive for one roll. If there is someone who could pick up that film and post it to me in...

Re: price hike by Kodak Tri X

Hi,
I suggest you buy Tri-x from another source. Buy from the USA and have it posted over. Kodak in the usa did put up the price of Tri-x, but its still on US$13.50. Find a friend in the USA and have them buy it and post it over to you in moderate quantities.
keep sourcing film!
