Re: Zeiss splicer

Hello David, I have seen the Stanco and the Maier-Hancock, it's true, they are available at low cost. In Stanco I can't see where is the tool for scratch, of Maier-Hancock I saw a video and I understood. Maier seems to me to be mechanically better. Do you think these electrical heating splicers can ...

Magnificent, perhaps even more practical than the Super8 Sound Recorder.

Re: sony wmd6c Gebuhrmultisyn

Oh, really, it costs so much! It must be a great quality! I use a Philips cassette recorder (I also like sound of audiocassette) connected to the Fujica ZC1000 with the cable that produced the Fuji itself. The recorder starts and stops with the release button of the camera, but the lip sync is a dif...

Re: Tripod Talk

Also in Italy it's necessary to ask permission to use the tripod, but not the monopod. I consider an heavy tripod absolutely necessary when there is a zoom or macro function. There are light tripods on the market, for photography, which in these situations make everything tremble, also with cable re...

Re: Zeiss splicer

Interesting looking cement splicer. Cement splices are the best and once one has some practice they're very quick to make. What is important is to get the type that grinds the base down thinner before the film is overlapped and glued. This will allow the film to go through the projector smoother. T...

Re: Single frame problem

The seller showed me the length, 2.6 cm, suitable for the function. I hope to win it. :) Thanks! For historical curiosity: this model of cable release it would seem (looking Bolex Collector) older than the Rexofader, also the first Rexofader. Who knows if the company has taken account of these old c...

Re: Single frame problem

@Mmechanic: No, I don't need it, but it's uncomfortable disassemble it during the shoot session. I happen to do an animation between a continuous shooting and the other, even if I'm outdoor, and the Rexofader also has small pieces ... @sciolist: I asked to the first seller if he can tell me the meas...

Re: Single frame problem

Thanks! I just tried a Gitzo cable with angled tip and a round plastic near the button, which I use on my Beaulieu 4008 ZM II. Unfortunately, the thread is thicker and does not fit into the hole of the Rexofader (and adapters), but the length of the tip that comes out is longer than the Bolex offici...

Thank you, sciolist, would you give me some indication to know which Gitzo cable could be similar to yours? I find many on the web.

Single frame problem

Is it possible use a cable release for single frame feature on a Bolex H8 Rex4 with Rex ofader? The Rexofader prevents operation because: adapter like third version of this image: http://bolexh16user.net/ImagesStandard/CableReleases2.jpg I can't mount it upside down because there is the lower part o...

Re: Retro-X Single 8 200 ASA in artificial light

I answer myself: better the "exposure compensation" option at 1/3rd stop over, with the needle just above the center. For have 160 Asa.
With the Fractional Exposure Control at "2" the camera would give a 100 Asa exposure, too much.
