Re: kodak

Any more news on 16mm reversal please - Kodak, Ferrania ... anyone? Thanks :) Kodak are still working on reviving Ektachrome. Although I think they announced it will launch initially in 135 and super 8, I'd imagine 16mm would follow if there's any success in the other formats. Ferrania regularly up...

Re: reversal bleach

Note that regulations on selling lab chemicals to ordinary mortals have been strengthened due to fears of terrorism and acid attacks (misnomer as most are alkali attacks....) Depending on your location you might now find it very difficult to obtain even battery acid, and potassium dichromate is prob...

Re: reversal bleach

I've used it at room temperature, which would be anything from 17 to 25C in my kitchen. I don't think temperature is very critical as you're looking to remove salts which have reacted with the first developer. It's probably wise to err on the side of caution and bleach for longer than you think migh...

Re: New Kodak Super 8 Camera Preview

Yeah isn't that price about 10x what they quoted at CES in 2016?

I wish Kodak every success but I'm no longer in the market at those prices....I might have been at $400.

The relaunched Ektachrome and possibly the processing are still of interest...depending on price and quality.

Re: Process EM-26

As far as I can tell, EM-26 is very similar (if not identical) to E6 with the addition of a step whereby the remjet (removable jet-black antihalation) layer is removed. This would gunk up a regular E6 processing lab. I've done Ektachrome 160 super 8 in E6 chemistry myself with professional results. ...

Re: Kodak awakens, new S8 camera announced at CES '16

There was a pre-production model preview a few months ago. it is highly unusual for such a product to actually be delivered according to the original timescale. Looking at all the available info (and not rumours/requests) there will be more than one version of the camera. The initial release is hope...

Re: Process times for various B&W 8mm films ???

I should add...I have access to dichromate bleach. Thanks for the link, will have a look later. I am guessing that the Tri-X will need a first development in the same ballpark as 135 negative development of similar stock? I don't know about the Svema material in the "Quarzchrome" cartridge or how to...

Process times for various B&W 8mm films ???

It has been over a decade since I did any reversal film processing. I have a Lomo tank for 8mm and super 8 film. I am still regularly processing still film in 35mm and 120 formats and always have Ilford ID-11, a stop bath and a fixer in the house - currently Tetenal Superfix but sometimes other bran...

Re: The sound of Eumig projector 810 807

I used to own an 820HQS, and there was always some sort of hum or hiss from the loudspeaker when it was running, even with silent film. With the volume turned up you could hear it...and even with a silent film you'd hear "bumps" . With sound film, even if the soundtrack is blank (unrecorded) you sho...

Re: Hello from FILM Ferrania!

I definitely hope to purchase some Ferrania P30. I love silver-rich B&W films, I've been using Adox Silvermax and Fomapan 100 a fair bit in 135. The test images from the first hand rolled Ferrania films look beautiful.

The site looks good. Easy to navigate, the English is easy to understand and some prices (especially filmstock) are currently reduced.

A round of applause :)

Re: Ektachrome returns

I've seen a message somewhere, probably APUG, where a spokesman for Ferrania wish Kodak the best of luck and reckon that this won't affect Ferrania's plans. As for which I will buy, price will play a big part in that decision. But I am an amateur. I may well end up buying Ferrania super 8 if there's...

Re: kahl film in UK

I am aware that all "distance selling" whether online, by phone or old fashioned mail order....carries a 14 day cooling off period during which the order can be cancelled. I am aware that people can order, then send stuff back. That goes, even if they pay by bank transfer or cheque. I would have tho...

Re: Ektachrome returns

Judging by the graphics on Kodak Alaris' website, and the word going around the still shooting sites.....the smart money is on a 100ISO product for super 8 being reintroduced to offer when the new Kodak camera is made available towards the end of this year. Kodak Alaris (the consumer film arm of EK)...

Re: Kodak Ektasound 140 and silent Super 8 film

Back then 3D printing was a pipe dream...however I understand that even in 2017 printed gears are often not accurate enough. I didn't take the camera apart as the consensus on this forum was that it wasn't worthwhile. I had paid peanuts for the camera, got a couple of decent films out of it, and had...
