Re: Best setup for a Super 8 Sync Sound Production in 2018?

If you're talking actual SYNC, there is no currently working system out there for that...like the system Pro8mm invented back in the 70's. BUT, you can manually sync up Super 8 and audio pretty easily these days. Clapper is a great way, or just have someone stand in front of the camera and clap thei...

Kodak has gotten very good at teasing. Almost like Blackmagic.

Re: Canon 814 super8 - Battery Corrosion - doesn't work. Repair $ cost?

I have a couple of those 814 Autozoom cameras. Built like tanks and heavy as one too. Good solid camera but limited on film speed options. it shoots in 24fps. which other speed is it lacking? I'm not gonna be doing any slow-mo shooting I believe it's 12, 24 & 36. Slow motion is fun with film. Beaul...

Re: kodak

The scanner looks like a rebrand of something off allibaba or some chinese manufacturer. Theres an interesting article in the ny times on kodaks bitcoin, they actually are just rebranding someone else's technology. come on kodak, do something original, like your own an super 8/8mm scanner. Since th...

Re: Kodak Super8 revival - Media coverage

So the new Kodak camera requires you to manually enter in the film stock using the LCD screen and data wheel?

I guess using the notches would require more mechanical elements than they wanted to deal with. I hope they will keep the notches for all the legacy cameras...I'm sure they will...

Last price I paid for 100D 100' rolls was about $45.

Re: 16mm

Guess I've had a couple overachieving ones. Not quote a whole roll but more than 40ft in my experience. Big difference between that one and the Russian K3 that I seemed to be always winding.

Good to hear from someone who's actually used one and it's basically what I would have expected. Just barely good enough to see what you have maybe but not to actually do much with.

Re: New Kodak Super 8 Camera Preview

So the price is a little tough considering a really good Super 8 camera & lens can be had for $500 or less, BUT...a good DSL can be in the $2500 range pretty easily and considering the work and tech going into it, its not unreasonable. Where they can redeem themselves is on the processing and transf...

Re: 16mm

My favorite "old" 16mm camera is the Kodak K100. It can shoot almost a whole 100' roll with one winding.

Re: Wolverine 8mm and Super 8 Movie Reels to Digital MovieMaker

The only reason these are tempting to me is the price...about what one batch of quality film scans winds up costing. Would be nice to have something to preview reels in the digital world.

Re: kodak

Guessing this will be good news as they would try to bury or at least not promote bad news.

From Kodak November 8:
Tune in next week for an update on Ektachrome. Only on #TheKodakery podcast.

Re: kodak

50D is sold out on their site. If it comes back, all is well. If it gets discontinued, then if worry. I don't think they're sold out...try calling the 800 number. That retail web site has always been a little strange about products coming on and off. Fascinating that B&H is selling Super 8 film for...

Re: Customer review: Universal 2K

Great news. I love the modular aspect that allows for camera upgrades. Honestly, that's the only piece that could become "obsolete" and with you providing upgrades when there's a leap in camera tech, the system is future proof. Bravo.
