Re: Processing Colour Neg at Gauge Film

Hi, the process depends on the film. As a rule of thumb all olour-negative filmstocks for still photography are C41, while all olour-negative cine-filmstocks (Vision3, ...) are ECN-2. You can verify this by taking a look at the tech-docs: http://motion.kodak.com/motion/uploadedFiles/Kodak/motion/Pro...

Re: 8mm Sound conversion to DVD

Super8-film is played back at 18 or 24fps- However DVDs don't support these frame-rates. E.g. when doing a PAL-transfer, then the film's speed is either slowed down from 18fps to 16.66fps or sped up from 24 to 25fps. Same applies to NTSC (with different frame-rates: 18fps gets sped up 19.980, while ...

Re: Mains lead for Bolex 18.5

Isn't it just an older standard ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEC_60320 or https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ger%C3%A4testecker#Vorl.C3.A4ufer_des_Kaltger.C3.A4testeckers )? Most of them can still be bought at Reichelt or Conrad: http://www.reichelt.com/IEC-Connector-Plugs/2/index.html?&ACTION=2&LA=2&...

Hi,

maybe you could ask this movie club?

Tak Kohyama from Retro8 should also know details and might even have spare parts:

Re: New to film

What options have I got for editing it for projection? Well... as an amateur in the year 2014 you can choose between "dry" and "wet" splicing. "Wet" means glueing the splices with "film cement" ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Film_cement ), while "dry" means using "tape" (either on a roll like http...

Re: processing labs in UK

However this lab does 16mm, so they should be able to process double8 as well: http://www.encorepost.co.uk/#ourservices I went on their website and I couldn't see anything about processing? Looks like you're correct. Their page only says: "We offer a full overnight dailies service for both 16mm and...

Re: processing labs in UK

It looks like no.w.here and gaugefilm are the only British lab left that do b&w (that is if they really process in-house): http://www.no-w-here.org.uk/index.php?cat=4&subcat=main http://www.gaugefilm.co.uk/store/p21/50ft_D-19_B%26W_Super_8_%26_Double_8_Reversal_Processing_Service_.html However this ...

Re: Would this film work with my camera?

how do i configure my camera for this tape? You can't. (Reason a: The camera doesn't use tape but film! ;-) Reason b: The camera doesn't support anything above 160 ASA.) But you don't have to when using manual exposure. as it is 200 ASA while the max is 160 ASA (So it would overexpose?) The differe...

Re: Braun Super 8 Nizo Profesaional S800

As for the batteries:
I've used various rechargeable batteries in various super8- and single8-cameras without any problems.
The current "low self-discharging" batteries are working fine, too.

Re: Braun Super 8 Nizo Profesaional S800

Hi! The "sun"-symbol means "daylight-filter for tungsten-balanced enabled". Hence that's not the setting you want to use. ;-) However: when the super8-cartridge is correctly notched and when the camera is working correctly, then the filter should be automatically disabled despite your settings. Re: Kodak 100D

My idea is that they are not planning on bringing it back. You are aware Kodak has ceased all production of reversal colour film? Even if they would like to do so: I doubt that they still can coat films (at least acetate based ones): http://www.ebay.com/itm/Used-60-Acetate-Film-Roll-Roller-Coating-...
