Re: Hit the jackpot!

What Minolta and lenses did you get? Are you going to use them? Got a perfectly good Minolta SRT 101 with a metal body body cap and a pristine 55mm f1.2 lens (away from it right now, I’d have to check on that for sure) with both caps, UV and polarizing filters. Some M-mount Vivitar extenders were a...

Re: Hit the jackpot!

No, I have not. But in (hopeful) anticipation I already obtained some Provia 100D Single 8 cartridges from Retro 8 in Japan. And in case this ZC1000 is non-functional, I also recently obtained a NIB Fujica P2 (it’s motor seems to work fine), just so that I had SOME way to use the film I bought.

Re: Hit the jackpot!

Thx! Yes, it looks very, very good. I did open the battery compartment: no batteries and looks new inside there, thank goodness. There was an R25N cartridge in it, as well; not sure if it's unexposed (albeit very old) or midway through... I also later found the the remote cable and skylight and 85A ...

Hit the jackpot!

I was perusing an auction site recently and I came across a listing for a Minolta camera and a "Z 1000". I looked closer at the pictures...wait...is that a disassembled ZC1000? Why yes, I think it is! Kept my mouth shut, and bid on it aggressively in the last minute. Won it for $54. Finally got it t...

Re: Nikon R10 power zoom non-functional

Are you referring to the "Power Zoom Speed Control"? Yes, I checked that. And yes, fresh batteries (I resurrected my R8 from a horribly corroded battery holder...) As I said, the film transport motor works fine, which indicates the camera is getting power. The R10 uses the battery pack for both mete...

Nikon R10 power zoom non-functional

Hi All, I scored a Nikon R10 this past week. Its meter, film drive mechanism, and battery check appear to work well, but the power zoom is not functioning (in either T or W direction). I also have a Nikon R8 Super, and I'm assuming would work the same as on the R8, but it does not. Does anyone have ...

Re: New Kodak Super8 camera test

Some moving objects and camera movement would have been nice, as well!
But glad they are moving forward with it!!

Full Frame scan services?

Hi All,
Can someone point me in the direction of a reputable company that will do HD full frame Super 8 scans (with sprocket holes showing) in in the US?
(and clean and prep).
Reasonably priced for maybe 4 50' rolls? Family home movie stuff. Flat scans are fine.

Kodak Instagram tease?

Perhaps something is around the corner camera-wise?
One can hope! See attached image.

Is the Pi taking pics of the emulsion side of the film?

Re: Telecine with a Bolex 18-5L

Sounds like a great project! I've just started a similar one: Planning to use a Eumig Mark 8 with a Raspberry Pi (B+) with v2 camera. Have you seen this guy's project and python code for Raspberry Pi?

Re: Uncompressed Workflow Retro-Universal

Two follow-up questions:
- Was it shot at 18 fps?
- What was the render fps specified in Resolve? (I'm more familiar with Sony Vegas)

Re: Uncompressed Workflow Retro-Universal

Nice work!
This is the type of workflow I am hopefully working towards.
I'm no expert, but I don't see any compression blocking artifacts from the .mp4 render, except MAYBE at the 54 sec mark (the band of lake water near the top).
Really nice, and a great goal for this beginner to aspire to! :-)
